It will be probably well over half a year before we see it in 2024, considering they’ve said on Discord that 2024 compatibility will be a "few months"after their coming update drops who knows when. That’s quite some time…
Yes so, clearly I’m terrible at telling time haha. It is, in my opinion, a long time though. I should stress I don’t really blame the developers. I blame Asobo for being economical with the truth, in regard to the ease of compatibility. Nonetheless, it is frustrating.
I don’t like PMDG and their ethics as a whole. Their products are not all they’re cracked up to be, to me. And their prices do not reflect the quality. They reflect a developer that’s comfortable in the knowledge that they effectively cornered the Boeing sim market.
Big update this morning to version 1.0.3.

MAX8 v 1.0.3 Available!
While we are working towards the MSFS 2024 compatible build and MSFS 2020/2024 Service Pack 1, we decided to package all those items completed to date for the MSFS 2020 MAX8.
This must be a full, new, fresh, clean installation! Use of iFly Manager version 1.0.2.7 or later is required. Use the Manager “Uninstall” feature. Note: If you do have the correct version of the iFly Manager, you will be notified to upgrade. If you do not upgrade the Manager, you will not be able to install v 1.0.3 of the MAX.
While existing liveries are compatible with this release, DO NOT keep old ini files, including those self-generated or received with the livery packages. Some painters package ini files with their repaints to replicate the airline default options. Those old ini files can cause conflicts with the new build.
Also do not use old user generated, saved panel states or flight-plans. Those can contain outdated data which can conflict with the new build.

When it becomes 2024 compatible I’ll be hitting that buy button!
Can’t wait!
I wish they would add the orca Alaska livery to the fleet as well as the gold striped white united livery! This would be phenomenal and look great in the skies
I can’t handle that.. just give me a MAX9
Great update to the ifly max. I was a little skeptical initially but this is a great aircraft. I like pmdg and own all their 737 variants but I’ll probably skip their max and stick with this one, really a well made add on by ifly. Look forward to their max9 and maybe? Max7 / max10 at some point
What do they mean with ‘don’t keep old ini files with liveries’? I have installed all liveries’ through their manager. Is there anything particular I need to do?
Thank you! I’ll make sure I do this correctly.

This forum has been dead for quite some time. I don’t do discord, is there any recent news about updating the MAX for full MS2024 compatibility?
Not really. We are still waiting on SP1 for 2020 as well. Hopefully soon.
Relatively speaking, they are pretty quiet.
The FS2024 version is taking a while. It’s been quite a while.
I have removed 2020 from my system but before I did I was eager for the 2020 SP1 Max update as well. While this plane was honestly in pretty good condition when it was released, it was positioned as quasi-early access with updates to come soon after availability.
Not sure if they ran into tech issues, expanded the scope of what they wanted to do, or if 2024 became a distraction but it does seem like things have been taking longer than was originally predicted. Hope they are still committed to this project.
Wish I could find some of the marketing accompanying the release to verify what expectations were set at the time. I could definitely be mistaken.
