Brief description of the issue:
When I create an IFR flight plan on the world map for KLAX to KJFK, it checks out. Loading into a plane and checking through the steps in the FMC shows a loop of 4 waypoints before finishing out the flight, thus, extending the flight time unnecessarily. I’ve tried this flight in both the 787 and A320n. The loops starts at LVZ (LVZ - JENNO - HARTY - STW), goes to STW then back to LVZ. Once it gets back to STW, it finally continues on to finish the flight.

I fixed the issue to my problem. The solution was removing the LVZ way point from the route. This removed the loop entirely and made the route smooth again. Thanks to Papa [Z+2] for helping me with this on the official discord channel.
