A quick update if I may… the rest of yesterday and earlier today I was beginning to think that I’d made a poor decision sticking with 1080p on this new monitor–some buyer’s remorse, if you will. I was seeing more “distortion” and ugly shadowing in videos (totally unrelated to the MSMS) and difficulty with text displayed.
And then just a few minutes ago, I was seeing some odd “distortion” on the propeller disc image from the cockpit. It was truly annoying and a cause for concern.
However, I went into the monitor’s adjustment section and found that I had set the Picture Response time to “Fastest”. I vaguely remember playing with that parameter, but do not recall where I’d set it. Regardless, taking it off the “Fastest” and setting it to “Faster” removed the smudging and “distortions” I’d been seeing.
All is well and it looks great in the sim again. WHEW!!
