Hello Everyone,
I hope the FS development team gets my suggestions to improve the procedures at the airport. I’ve been working as ground service at my local airport back in times, so I have a few tips:
-
Usually, when the passager bridge is powered and moving, orange/yellow warning lights are enabled on the bridge + you can hear a warning signal, often it’s a ringing tone, so people know the large bridge is moving. This is a safety purpuse, you can find at most airports, but as of today this is missing in FS.
-
When the airplane has just arrived, the very first thing ground service guy do is putting chocks under the tires (front wheel and at least one of the main LDG wheels). We need to have those yellow chocks around the wheels, for instance, when parking brake is set at gate?!
-
Electrical power: Electrical cables are mostly attached to the passanger gate. When the aircraft arrives, ground service guys have the electrical cable alredy in their hands ready to connect to the aircraft. In FS however, external electrical power comes on request from a truck. This is very wrong for the most airports… when at the gate, there’s no truck used. This could be only a worst case scenario, when the power supply is broken or so. Could we please remove those GPU trucks? I find them disturbing to see next to the aicraft.

When the aircraft is parked, usually ground service guys put warning caps/cones under each wing tip. We need to add this.

Loading procedurs:
For instance while loading the A320, most large airlines use containers, while charter/cheap airlines do use hand loaded baggage. However, currently we don’t see workes around the airplane. Wee need to have at least 3-4 people servicing a A320… and since we have some AI workes… why not put some around the airplane. -
One baggage truck driver
-
One loading the lane
-
One loading the baggage in the cargo hold.
And, we need both cargo hold doors to be opened while loading baggage. This is mostly done simultaniously.
- Ged rid of the pushback truck, which is always in front of the parked plane. They don’t park in front of the airplane… the guys are very busy driving around the airport, they don’t chill out at the gate. It interferes with surrounding scenery anyway…
Thanks
