Improve Clouds (Colour and Look) Wishlist, Bug Report?

Is there actually a wishlist to improve, or bug report to show the poor state of the clouds in MSFS?

I am amazed that however many years into the sim there has been no improvement to the clouds, in fact they have only got worse.

The colours are far too yellow/orange/grey/ashen, and often they just don’t look like clouds, more like massive balls of cauliflower or volcanic eruptions.

I saw this photo of an explosion, and my first thought was, wow, this looks exactly like the clouds in MSFS, same colour, same texture, same looks nothing like a cloud.

But then when I look at wishlist on dev update I see in the top 30, like almost 500 votes for adding powerlines (which actually you can get a mod for), and that it is planned to come to the sim, but see nothing about the poor clouds. I don’t understand why there is nothing about the clouds.

It may just be me, but I don’t understand the priority, how can people want to see powerlines and be happy about the clouds, there are so many trivial things on there, and nothing about clouds, which are so important in a flight sim.

I totally agree with you, just that I would say that the main issues or enhancements that should be addressed are concerning clouds in Live Weather. Through custom weather you can get decent clouds even if you course there is room for enhancements.
So if you search for “clouds” in the wishlist and bug\weather forums you’ll find many topics trying to address 1 issue or enhancement request at the time. But for me the topic that best summarize all the requests is this one:

Please improve cloud variety and depiction in live weather to make it create: predictable and consistent clouds in line with IRL weather sources/forecast Dynamic cloud formations with smooth and organic development without bubbles or rapid transitions. I think distant clouds appearance and coloration are good. Its the clouds that are closer to you that I have problems with. Sometimes they are fine. Other times they just really really wrong – whether it be too transparent or weird colors or overly dark shadows — they are insistent on using two different color sets together and one of them is always yellow. I’d prefer white with blues and bluegreys. I really don’t know why the close clouds need to have as much color as they do – maybe to differentiate between close and far I guess. Not sure why less brightness and less color couldn’t accomplish that same thing.
I really hope they actually care about the atmosphere in the enxt version – which they’ll then probably sabotage again for some unknown reason – probably to add high texture ant mounds.
