I would like to request an improvement to the world map markers in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
At the moment, all markers (airports, cities, POIs, landscape features, etc.) use the same color, which makes it difficult to distinguish different categories while exploring the world.
My proposal:
-
Color‑coded markers
Each category should have its own color, for example:
– Airports
– Cities / towns
– Landmarks / POIs
– Natural features (mountains, valleys, rivers, etc.)
– Water bodies -
Mouse‑hover information
When hovering over a marker with the mouse, a small info box should appear showing:
– Name
– Category
– Distance
– (Optional) elevation or type -
Optional toggle
Users should be able to turn these features on or off depending on their preference.
Why this is important:
Many players use MSFS not only for IFR navigation but also for visual world exploration.
Clear, color‑coded markers and quick mouse‑hover information would greatly improve orientation and make VFR flying more intuitive and enjoyable.
I hope this feature can be considered for a future update.
Thank you.
