In 2024 I find it incredibly hard to plan a route on Xbox. Where is the "High altitude airways" option?

I feel this game is such a downgrade, whilst everyone’s on about the scenery those on Xbox are stuck with a knightmare. We shouldn’t have to buy a mouse and keyboard in order to do simple things like select a route.

I can’t seem to grasp how to do what I did before, that is, to plan a simple route and land on a runway with ILS. Instead I have this terrible flight planning popup which doesn’t respond to controls, is finnicky to work, and seems to show the weirdest fligth plan loops around airports instead of ILS option.

How do I plan a simple route like before? For example, Cardiff to London heathrow? The approach paths are going 50 miles in the wrong directions even when at the right heading, where as in 2020 it was “High altitude airways”, select a runway, boom. Done.

I know it isn’t as simple, but have you tried the web-based flight planner? Apparently, you can send the plan direct from the web to Xbox.

I found the in-game EFB to create weird plans that the web-based did not.

I actually just found that! Thanks also. Yea much easier. Just lucky I have a laptop really isn’t it! lol.

Downside is that it takes longer, upside is that I can make multiple ones so that’s something.

I wonder if the flight planner works in Edge on the Xbox, I haven’t checked that out.

Probably just as finnicky. The issue is this game isn’t made for Xbox. They had years to make an Xbox mode to simplify it all (my biggest gripe is how we need to use workarounds for something as simple as cycling views with the controller and getting custom views) but maybe I’m expecting too much but a major company and a major sim lol.
