In Flight "Go To" feature broken?

On several occasions, particularly for long flights, I’ve used the Go-to feature to jump ahead in the flight to a different phase. I’ve noticed 2 issues with this:

  1. Re-spawning at an incorrect point. I’ve sometimes wanted to jump to the top of my descent for the final flight phases only to be taken to somewhere in the middle of my cruise.
  2. Not Enough Fuel Error. I’ve had this error when attempting to use the feature on long range flights (e.g. LAX to Asia) . The aircraft should have enough fuel for the flight (e.g. full tank on 787) but I still get an error that there is not enough fuel to reach the place I want to jump forward to.

Is anyone else having this issue? Is a fix available or in the works?

This is a great feature to have, especially for people interested in shortening a 12+ hour flight to something much more manageable. Hopefully it’s fixed soon.

Issue (1) seems to occur when there’s a long distance between waypoints just prior to the top of descent, in my experience. No fix that I know of, I just accelerate time until I’m a bit closer.

Issue (2) is inconsistent. I’ve seen this but also the reverse, where you jump ahead a few hours on the A320 but still have a huge amount of fuel left upon descent.

And, of course, Issue (3): where the aircraft spawns back with autopilot off or in the wrong settings so you have to immediately prevent it falling out of the sky

(Either way though, bugs aside, I agree with your point: for the more casual simmer like myself, this is a great feature).

I have the exact same issues.
Flying the 787 EGLL-KJFK full tank even more than is realistic for a 6 hour flight. It tells me I have not enough fuel to go to descent.

When I use it to go from climb to cruise it works but it loads the plane in a state were all settings are gone! Once I even had to restart both engines of the 787 again but usually it disengages Autopilot, VNAV/LNAV and has a wrong altitude selected in the mode control panel.

I also have the Issue with running out of fuel when using the “go to”-feature… hasn’t been patched yet, it seems… and I thing Frankfurt-JFK should be managable for the 787, right?

It’s May 2021 and I still have the exact same issue. The go to features tells me I have not enough fuel when I have full tanks in a long range aircraft that on the flight planning screen tells me I do have enough fuel.

Are other’s still experiencing this in May 2021?

Yes, I get the same “not enough fuel” message with the B787. Tried many different things, like turning off and on Fuel Pumps, Cross Flow, A/T, thrust idle… with no success. For the B747 it works quite well. Autopilot still resets but it holds the correct altitude, stays on course and the distance to the top of descent is very reasonable most of the time. I desperately hope this will be fixed soon for the B787.

Thanks for confirming it’s not something I am doing wrong. I was trying out the new 787 ‘heavy’ mod which is great. Hopefully Asobo fixes the 787 themselves at the same time. It was one of the main reasons I paid for the premium deluxe which has been rather underwhelming.

developers are incompetent, the option more often than not completely messes up my flight path. this isn’t a flight simulator it’s a bing maps simulator, they only care about adding pretty scenery and landmarks
