In-game 3rd party software

Hi!

It’s unlikely the UN is gonna prioritize my concern, but here goes: Previous versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator seemingly allowed third party developers to embed their software directly into the simulator (FSPassengers is an example of that). Is this not possible with MSFS 2020, or is it other reasons to why add-ons like OnAir, Air Hauler etc. run as separate executable programs? This is, of course, not a big issue, but it has an negative impact on my experience when I find myself loading a bunch of programs every time I want to fly:

  • LittleNavMap
  • AirHauker/OnAir/etc
  • Navigraph
  • FS Playground / others (for replays etc)
  • And so on

I always prefer running as few apps as possible when I fly, so this is slightly annoying.

Any thoughts?

What?

It’s just an analogy, he’s the little guy asking Asobo/MS for something…

Haven’t seen you in ages dude! We need to get flying again. On topic, @StumpyFrame6 I think as the SDK further develops we’ll see in-roads to this type of addon embedding capabilities. I too hate having a ton of programs open, sometimes we can’t avoid it, but I’d like to see embedded addons (like how Flight Events can embed to the top tool bar).
