Hi all,
I’ve been playing MSFS lately but my game has been crashing. I have a few settings on ultra (clouds is the main one) but everything else is medium/high.
My specs are:
i5-10400f
16gb of RAM
GTX1660 Super
MSFS is on a 1tb hdd with lots of space on it
What are your settings that you would recommend for my PC? Thanks!!
A little note that may be mentioning, in my Nvidia Gpu 3d settings app, I have anisotropic filtering set to 16x to fix the blurry runway bug.
I would first just fly for a while with the medium preset and see if that solves the crashing. You can always turn things back up but start there as it might be something else causing crashes and you waste time trying settings with no progress.
If medium is stable then just turn up things one by one. I think ultra anything is asking a bit much of your system honestly. The difference between high and ultra for most things is so tiny it’s not worth the extra stress on the system IMO. Clouds is the biggest difference at ultra but also the heaviest push on your GPU and a bit on CPU.

I would use the msfs AA instead of using the nvidia one, and be sure to don’t have 2 AA running wich lead to huge FPS impact, did you try sharp filter for the blurry runway issue ?
Where is your LOD set?
That will have the greatest hit to your 10400
