Check out this stunning graphics in VR mode!
The title is why most of my flying is zipping low alt in a bubble canopy trainer jet.
Awesome!!!
The darker it is, the better it looks (except for city lights)
.It’s because it gives room for imagination.
Btw: If crashes are switched off in Dev Mode every plane can glide on the water. I like cruising with the 152 on remote lakes.
That’s cool - I will try some others on the water too!
I find the Quest 2 way better than the G2.
VR is the best thing ever but this video is very misleading, I have the same specs and have to set motion reprojection down to 80 & use medium graphics in VR. There’s no way you can keep high FPS in a big airport or close to a city with everything set to Ultra, and if there is a way I’m missing something.
Recording a bunch of short videos over the ocean/mountains with 25 fps doesn’t mean anything as it’s non sustainable.
Yes, I’ve managed the highest and smoothest FPS ever. High settings on i9 2080ti 32mb and the reverb g1.
The VR experience cannot be transfered to a 2D video… To show of incredible graphics, it’s much better to just record in 2D as well.
Pretty much, but the native vr head tracking and FOV makes the videos just as immersive.
Yea unfortunately folks will never see what we see being rendered in full, stereoscopic 3d inside of the headset. This was always a hard selling point in VR…you have to physically go to a store and try one to be sold on it. No demo video can show you what it truly is.
There are still folks who think VR is simply a stretched 2d image across your eyes with headtracking.
not that much flying going on, considering it’s a flightsimulator… But great graphics, nevertheless
i mean, as a fan of big planes, you can imagine how big the smile i had on my face the first time i got on the deck of the 747.
Sure it wasn’t optimized and jerky and stuff. but man…i was on the flight deck of a 747! And i didn’t even need to pay thousands for commercial flight school
Yea thats cool!
Can you by any chance share you current settings? We have identical systems yet I have never had a smooth picture and it is all very blurry for me.
About to give up on VR🤷🏻‍♂️
Thanks!!
It depends on your system. Gpu/cpu memory etc.
Make sure flight simulator properties has - disable full screen optimisations ticked- gets rid of stutters.
Use nvidia driver 457.30
Open XR 70
Nvidia settings
Power max performance
Texture filtering anisotropic off
Low latency on
Texture filtering negative old bias allow
Texture filtering quality
Trilnear optimisation on
Threaded optimisation on
Vertical sync fast
Then use 100 res in sim
TAA
All other settings just alter to get best performance
Don’t give up on VR. Never go back to pancake mode!
Try these - they may help you get it set up.
Thanks for this mate.
I can’t even imagine running the game with settings this high.
Also, having the HP Reverb, I have to lower things down as it is higher resolution to begin with.
I may have to try and turn on motion reprojection.
Ok good luck with it!
I have had good luck with motion reprojection set to always on (or automatic) in OpenXR Developer and then have the G2 headset on 60hz in WMR. I adjusted my graphics settings in the sim to get FPS of ~25-30 in most areas which for me means 1440p and then mostly high settings, some medium as well, and render resolution settings of 100 in sim and in Open XR developer. This is with an i9 and rtx 3090. I also have HAGS on now and use the latest nvidia driver from a few days back. I fly mostly steam guages but also a few turboprops…rarely the tubeliners. Good luck.
It feels like a boat simulator…
