Does anybody know when the HMD issue will be fixed? It still shows when you are looking flat out straight at the aircraft’s own HUD.

Can anyone except lain to me how the autopilot works? Just purchased the aircraft, selected speed works but neither heading or altitude work, I can see the flight director dot showing where it needs to go but the airc

You have to use the AP command from the main dash in front of you and then just look down and you’ll find the option for alt hold and speed hold. I’ll try to post a shot when I can.

Any clue as to why the HMD still shows when the pilot is looking straight ahead?

Hi, thanks for the reply, I can get the ap to work for speed but what it’s not doing is following the flight director for the heading and altitude, I have watched numerous you tube videos but they are pre the latest aircraft update where the options have slightly changed. When you say HMD is that the helmet hud so to speak?

Yeah the helmet HUD - it is only supposed to pop up off centre, but it stays lit all the time even when you’re looking straight ahead.

As for your issue, find IFE on Discord, they are super duper helpful and one of the most pleasant, friendly, and professional third party devs to talk to. They will help you resolve it :+1:

DC Designs are on discord too, referring to the other thread

Actually before the latest msfs2024 updates it worked correctly, deactivating when the line of sight overlapped with the HUD vision. I reported it and was told (and I recognize that they have good reasons) that correcting the bug introduced by Asobo would have been very complex but, above all, the new code could have been corrupted by every new update of the simulator itself. Given the absolutely transparent behavior and ready to welcome suggestions from users by IFE, in a condition of rapid change and development of the simulator I did not insist on the subject. The situation could be ripe to ask for an update relating to this aspect by making a request also by other F35 customers…

Does Dino frequent these forums?

If yes, can we please address the HMD issue - the head mounted display keeps showing even if you are looking straight ahead.

I know Dino is pretty active on their discord channel

I contacted IFE again about the issue and I attach their response:
" apologies but as you may be aware of this is not a new bug - this bug affects all the HUD occlusion functionalities of planes (including the stock F/A-18 Hornet) since the initial release of MSFS2024 - the bug is acknowledged by Microsoft. If you see the change it is probably a regression in Microsoft code. "
So it’s all in the hands of Asobo, who will surely respond in the usual ways…

Great, we’ll just wait for a fix then.

I imagine a lot of developers are either swamped trying to get their products working in the new sim, or waiting for for the updated sdk and for the su3 update and some stability - I’m with you though, as Tom Petty said, the waiting is the hardest part, it’s only seven months since release… Lol
