iniBuilds A330 Batteries Keep Charging to A Very High Voltage

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

The A330 battery charging should stop when the current is less than 4A.

However, in the simulator, when the current is greater than 1A, and the pushbutton switch is pressed to switch off the batteries, the charging does not stop. Instead, the battery voltage continues to increase until the pushbutton switch is set back to the AUTO position.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

This issue occurs every time BAT 1, BAT 2, and the APU BAT pushbutton switches are set to the OFF position while the batteries are charging.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

  1. In a cold-and-dark state, do not connect the GPU; slightly drain batteries 1 and 2 by switching them to the AUTO position.

  2. Wait 1–2 minutes, then use the APU BAT to start the APU.

  3. After the ECAM self-test, switch the lower ECAM to the ELEC DC page. When you see that current is flowing into the batteries, quickly press the BAT pushbutton switch to the OFF position.

  4. Observe that the batteries continue to charge, and the voltage keeps increasing until the pushbutton switch is returned to the AUTO position.
