PROFILE mode tells the AP and A/T systems to follow the FMC, so maybe you have a problem in your FMC? A disco, or lack of altitudes and speeds for your waypoints? In such cases there is no profile to follow so it would make sense for the system to reject activation.
Thank you.
Could there be anything wrong with my settings? I mean the plane automatically switches into profile mode once it reaches cruise altitude. Thereās just no way I can control it.
You probably missed something in the FMS. I recommend to watch the brilliant tutorial for the A300 made by an IRL Airbus A330 pilot here:
Agreed. My favourite airplane at the moment too and I am yet to see any bugs.
Thank you all very much for your help, I found the problem, it was the missing Cost Index number in the FMS.
Iām loving the airplane as well, except that I feel that it floats too much during cruise. I tās never really smooth. Is there anyway you can reduce that? flightmodel cfg. ? Itās this slight up and down motion during cruise, mainly above FL300. It flies beautifully quiet under FL200, Iād like to have that behaviour at all altitudes.
My biggest problem also are the sounds. The engines become quieter when revving up (wtf?) so when idling the engines are louder than at TOGA. I think the engine roar volume at full speed is way too low.
Also I couldnāt find a way to adjust the volume of the TCAS and other sounds. I could barely hear anything during the TCAS test.
Nop, it just changes the memory used by MSFS while you use the app but it doesnāt change any files, there is nothing to backup before using it for example.
It does add mobiflight which is an open-source connector for cockpit builders and is open source so you can just remove it as any other thing in your community folder.
It might change your .xml if you choose to start the app when the sim runs but if you run it like any other external app it doesnāt change any files.
Great so far but really struggling with getting reversers to work correctly on TCA Airbus quadrant and Saitek throttle quadrant?l
No matter what I do, no matter where I set rev idle or idle my reversers kick in!
Any ideas?
Anyone know what TACT MODE button actually does/is for in the FMC? Iāve tried googling and canāt find a single thing.
TACT mode allows the pilot to select a ātacticalā profile for the current phase of flight, CLMB, CRZ or DES. This might differ from the āstrategicā mode of flight selected in MODE, you might have selected āeconomyā but you want to climb faster due to weather so you can switch to TACT mode and select a max climb mode.
The tactical mode is valid until that phase of flight ends, so clmb will end when the aircraft enters cruise then it reverts to the strategic mode selected.
This is what I remember, Iām not 100% sure it is right!
Update 1.0.2 is out, many bug fixes and improvements, including sounds ![]()
Thank you inibuilds for the update, always appreciated!
Fantastic explanation. Thank you so much!!
Yay they fixed almost all bugs that annoyed me. The only thing left for me is the reverse thrust issue at engine idle.
i though i messed up the calibration but after millions tries still canāt get it right, while at idle reverser always engage
For me takeoff runs are now suddenly uncontrollable due to the now highly sensitive rudder⦠![]()
Currently doing my first flight with the 1.0.2 Update.
The sounds have improved out of sight! There is many improvements and fixes in this update that I have noticed already. Great work inibuilds. Appreciate getting so many fixes and improvements out so quickly.
Couldnāt agree more. With devs supporting their product like this, the A300 is shaping up to me one of my favourite aircraft for MSFS to date.
Yep, good prompt updates. And they even said the priority of the next updates will be the vnav issues, so thatās great. Looking forward to the A350!
Anyone elseās performance get worse from the update? I now have my sim freeze 10 mins into flight but sound keeps going. Just started this randomly today
