This is the LIDO layout. I believe it’s the default one.
They should since both OFP’s come from the same source - Simbrief.
Status update on my BWIA flight from EGCC > TBPB, continues to go well, just over half way now with expected landing around 16:40 UTC. Some passengers complaining about faulty flushing toilets, another dude with a mullet keeps going on about steak and he’s looking for Wesley Snipes, but we’re doing OK.
I did get some waypoint glitch over Southern Ireland though, a bit like Brag’s the other day where a random waypoint would appear. Thankfully though, the INS seemed to ignore it and continued to follow the correct path without that strange circling behaviour.
An interesting picture I found on the Inibuilds Discord, looks like the stick on GPS is actually a thing, I had no idea. ![]()
On a side note, why in the heck have your camera on flash mode in this instance?! ![]()
Ok, I’ve just landed at EKCH, runway 22L and ILS worked absolutely fine for me ![]()
Only INS in Settings and when updating (anything) on MP I always uninstall it first and then download and install. There’s no need to do anything if you only stream it. It automatically streams the latest version of course.
You are lucky not to have encountered the ILS bug. Seems it only happens to some of us, which is weird in itself. I did a complete delete and fresh download and install already so I suppose I could do another one again, but I don’t think that can be the issue.
Finally! A fellow working ILS person, I was beginning to feel lonely lol.
Maybe it’s because I’m using INS only? I haven’t checked IniBuilds forum yet.
I’ve been using INS + Nav radios only since days one and it doesn’t seem to matter. It was all fine with V1.0.0 but not v1.0.1 for some reason.
If you watch A330 Drivers video between the timestamps shown you will see what happens.
On your next test flight, just try streaming the model instead. I know you’re on 30meg but once it’s loaded in, it’ll just cache it like it’s downloaded. That way you can be absolutely sure you’re running the latest update. I’d probably leave it 5 mins sat at the gate first before doing anything.
Only thing I can think of is literally everyone had that download failure error on the marketplace and we all seemed to do different things trying to get it to work so somethings gone Pete Tong somewhere.
And it works for an RNAV approach too LOL! I wanted to establish a base case with minimal switching on the MCP to rule out pilot error and establish a switch config/approach mode that works. Flew the same flight plan as yesterday CLT-JFK only today to RNAV 31R (no ILS on this approach to confound any avionics). To have the PMS available for TM & VNAV, I had to leave INS + GPS enabled in Aircraft settings. That said, I left all 3 INS units in STANDBY and did not align them.
Unexciting but good news: The flight completed as expected with all navigation accomplished by the GNS530 in GPS mode through the approach procedure. The AP followed the GPS guidance (set to VOR of course) onto the final approach course. Took over manually between the IF and descent point as this test flight was only intended to establish viable lateral guidance by GPS. Both VORs on the glare shield were tuned to JFK, which appeared on the RMI (less DME as JFK is VOR only).
A new gotcha! Landed gear-up due to some out of sync between the TM Boeing TCA’s gear lever and 1.0.1. While this did not happen yesterday on 1.0.1, I am at a loss how it happened today as the gear levers were in sync on the ground and for gear up after takeoff. Gotcha! Go figure, LOL!
P.S. Tristar is streamed, not downloaded.
That sounds expensive.
Dunno, never happens on a PMDG model!
I wish he tried to activate LOC or ILS again when in ALT mode at platform altitude. He was in CAP mode when trying. Otherwise I don’t see anything else different from my approach.
Wasn’t that YT shot on the pre-release 1.0.1? Could be something changed between the YT and MP? And/or something hot fixed since 1.0.1 became first available (less likely).
Nope!
It looks to be a Nixon Redgrave failed to think of everything thing.
I reset the throttle calibration via the PFB and now they are back to functional condition.
I’m off to test this ILS business.
Welcome back to the party! Say, which aircraft options/avionics configuration are you using for your ILS test flight?
Hello again, for your successful arrival, did you tune the ILS 1 on the glare shield/MCP or on the GNS530? Also, was the GNS set to GPS or NAV (albeit I know you left it hidden, but in GPS +INS mode as per your posts above). And did you switch to VOR before LOC or ILS? Want to try for an ILS flight this morning with your configuration. Thanks!
Not sure, I only fast forwarded to his approach. But I suppose that’s v1.0.1 he’s flying in the video. What’s weird that I’ve just checked IniBuilds forum, seeing someone complaining that ILS mode normally activated but the aircraft didn’t follow the glideslope. While in A330 Driver’s video he couldn’t even activate that mode.
I did the same thing, but watched the beginning and the descent to approach, that was the pre-release 1.0.1 video. There was a lot of busyness trying to hook up the ILS on that one LOL!
