IniBuilds KPVD - TF Green / Providence, RI Announced

Supposed to be out in a few weeks, looks amazing.

iniBuilds Announces Providence Rhode Island - FSElite

KPVD has a nice mix of domestic airlines, a couple of international routes, freight and GA. Can’t wait to see it released.

Already has a bunch of scenery errors in the North End. Many of the restaurants / POIs featured have closed. No one’s gotten it right yet, Fly2High has dated PG of the area.

Looking forward to doing ops out of ini’s KPVD!

Honestly, to me that’s irrelevant. Could care less if the Hooters they show closed down a year ago. Much more interested in a high quality rendition of PVD.

If you’re featuring a POI, you’d want to get it right. PVD accuracy at the cost of fps, hard pass. Fly2High is good enough.

Must admit, I’ve always been reluctant to use the word ‘accurate’ when referring to Fly2…

Presumably the building still stands? If so, it’s not really a big deal if the business itself is no longer operating. No one’s going to notice whether or not a business is still trading from the window of a passing airliner.

He did a good job after initial release fixing up the really obvious parts. Anyone who reads the reviews (including mine) know that he relied upon available PG and the rest of it was generic.

I know the inside of KPVD, having been there often enough over the years. I don’t care to lose fps just because the interior with the sailboat is modeled. I need a good enough outside view with all the runways, ramps and taxiways laid out and I can still get 30 fps with snow / rain falling. It’s just a cash grab in my opinion for FSE, and that’s fine, that’s their business model. I’m there to either fly in or out of the airport, and I’m not a tubeliner flyer, so I’m always leaving from the North ramp where GA and business are parked. Shrug.

The best one can say about F2H’s PVD is that it’s better than nothing (barely). I don’t care about the interior either, but I’ve got a machine that can handle it, so for me, that’s a non-issue. What I do want is the highest level of exterior details and from the screen shots released, Ini is going to deliver.

Just released. Since I hope to be a full-time FS2024 simmer later this year, I’m going to wait for the Dreamflight version so I can compare.

It seems to have gone straight on sale, at £11.99 (£15.59 regular price). One has to wonder if that’s due to the competition. Regardless, that’s a great price for a new Ini product!

Interesting. The email I just got had a different price:

That’s exclusive of tax. They were supposed to have sorted the pricing at their store so everything is tax-inclusive. I hope Dreamflight’s releases before this offer ends!

Ini might have the edge, in that theirs includes at least one city POI (complete with interior).

Generally it’s a good scenery but, as has been the case recently with a few ini sceneries, the grass textures look a bit ropey when viewed from altitude without the 3D grass on them.

Additionally, I can’t believe this is how this was intended to be. Perhaps it’s somehow got corrupted? There are some decent 3D models hiding behind the frontage which looks like two models on top of each other somehow

It is £9.99 + VAT = £11.99 with the launch ‘offer’

Screw it, I’m getting this one. It’s $14. If it turns out the other one is significantly better, I’m fine buying that one as well. I’ll still have the satisfaction of supporting these guys. I’ll be taking a flight I’ve done a dozen times in RL later tonight. KPVD to KCLT via American A319.

I’ll report back on first impressions.

Please do; I’m keen to know how Ini’s version is, irrespective of a direct comparison with Dreamflight’s.

It’s about the same front as Fly2High’s. The back is significantly better though.

Warning - you’ll get nauseous, a videographer I am not.

Full drone fly through of the airport.

Great video, it shows the parts most if us want to see. Some of those ground textures look a little too clean, though — in fact, the perimeter road textures look better! several gaps in the perimeter fence, too. Peripheral details appears strong.

Interesting that the fire station isn’t duplicated for you.

A very nice airport addon indeed and I always love flying in this area. It’s the Inibuild’s high standard + performance is excellent. I came from Nashville in RJ70, had a cup of coffee with guys at the terminal and went to see the boat.

Only had a few minutes to check it out last night. Overall impressions is that it’s much better than the Fly2High version. Especially outside the terminal. I see some objects that look way too crude sprinkled here and there but nothing that’s a deal breaker. No FPS hit that I can notice. I installed the GSX profile, and on my first flight had some weirdness where the jetway retracted on it’s own and the boarding passengers remained suspended in midair. No idea if that’s on GSX or something to do with the airport. Also noted a couple of piston engined aircraft parked at various gates which isn’t accurate and there was a United Embraer RJ suspended motionless at 500’ over the center of the field. Never seen anything like that before, not sure if it’s a BATC glitch (I use them for traffic) or again, something with the airport.

All in all though, I’m really happy with this one. If it turns out the other guy’s release is better, I’ll eat the $16 I paid for this and go with their product. Just finally happy to have a decent version of my home airport.
