MS told me: “The “insert disc” message is a general error stating that the authentication check failed when launching MSFS. This is pointing to an issue with the XBox app / MS Store not working as it should”
This problem is not occurring with Steam users.
On our side of things, we have not been able to replicate this problem on our end. We do have the online team checking to see if there are any Playfab related issues going on currently that could cause this"
I am also using X-Plane 12 and I’m loving it. Not as pretty but I always fly airliners so I don’t care.

was working again last night in the Netherlands. But half through the flight I got a “invalid token” message or something similar. Disappeared again, flight could be finished.
Still not working! get to loading screen “New Activities” and CTD. It appears whatever you guys updated has corrupted my game.
Thanks, doing it now. This is just the continuing saga that started with the disk error two days ago.
Also doing a clean install for the third time.
Mine is working now but it Messed up all my settings, Changed everything I had to go through every setting and fix it. It also Deleted my NIVIDA visual settings, total bummer but at least its working.
Same here, my computer cut also OFF the Wifi automatically.

On same day happend also on my Xbox X, which is my back-up.
Xbox X disconnected also from Wifi.
A quick look on my iPad: everything ok.
This is not the first time happening.
Same here. Brand new PC with a fresh Windows install and only MSFS2020 installed via the Microsoft Store / XBOX. This is the Disk version activated with the provided Key within the package. MSFS2020 was once installed on the old computer and ran fine there. Now on the brand new PC with 9800X3D / RTX5090 with fresh everything I get the Disk message and the initial install is only 2GB.
MSFS2024 bought in the MS store runs fine.

So far for the last week including the weekend I`ve been lucky, well I know do not tap on that door…
I just would like to know if it would be possible to fix, even if you might get some restriction/confusion from your internet provider, which just should show up: hey mate: you got kicked out till resetting/unplugging(nasty) your router one more time again…
Eventually with all AI things might get 2 in front and 1,5 backwards.
What seems to me weird is the fact that Xbox X showed me this kind of message also more than ones.
I have been trying everything on the internet I can find to solve this “Disk” problem. I finally found the answer in your post. Flush Your DNS cache. That has finally fixed it. I have been trying for days to figure this out. So thanks for the information. I greatly appreciate it. Must have rebooted my computer and MSFS 2020 25 times now. Finally this worked. Thanks for posting this. Much appreciated.

The text used for that error (that actually means the server cannot be reached to authenticate the user) is actually TOTALLY misleading creating a lot of confusion to MSFS users
I really don’t understand how much complex would be to show a meaningful message in that scenario

Today I got the error again. This time Flush Your DNS cache didn’t work. Spent 45 minutes going through about a half dozen fixes. Now I don’t even remember which one worked. This is really getting old.
