Install, update, re-install, update, re-install over and over

I bought the game 2 weeks ago. I installed, explored, all is fine, then it had a patch or update, did that, re-launched, worked for one short session then when I re-launched later that same day, i had to re-install.
Did that, then all worked well. THEN, another 93gb update. then all worked for a day. Then 1.10 update came out. I downloaded to 7gb update, that went well, BUT at re-launch had to do the 93gb download AGAIN.
This is the only game in I own that is so badly designed in its updates and all that.
So I bought Xplanes so I can play some kind of flight sim. No problems there. One download , thats it.
MSFS2020, still updating and downloading for the 3rd time. Is there anyway for the Install Manager to verify it ALREADY has the updated files??? so it can spare me the long download times.

Updates shouldn’t be 93GB, that’s like redownloading the whole game again each time. Latest update was just over 7GB. Sounds like you’ve got a bad install.

The download manager seems to be a giant mess, with no verification whatsoever. Part of the 900+ Mb download of the lobby…

Install was good. I think its STEAM thats screwing everything up.

Finally everything is working well. I love it!!

so what did you do to fix it

Any joy in figuring out what you did right? I have the exact same problem - it keeps reinstalling itself over and over 90gb… each time.

Hi. I have the same issue, too. Anytime an update is available this error message pop up

.
I start the MSFS always as administrator because this was told by support already to do so. I am not a big fan of running apps in administrative mode, but if this is a prerequisite announced by MS I do so.

The only way out is to COMPLETELY uninstall the application and install from beginning with all the content to be downloaded. Again and again and again after each update. This is a lot of data and costs a lot of time. Also the server where the data needs to be downloaded will be much busy as it needs.

so what was the solution, since I too have the same issue. when reinstalling it wont accept my code either, so frustrating, thanks

Are you reinstalling Steam, or MS Store?
What part of the reinstall won’t take your code?
