Installation drive

Hey guys, i have already installed the sim on the windows default drive C. Now i read that it might be better to install it on a different drive. Now my question: can i move the current installation folder per drag&drop from C to another alternative drive? Thanks Daniel

Yes you can just cut and copy official, community folders and paste them where u want, when you will launch the game it will try to update the game because it will not find these folders, so use browse button and select the folder where you copied these 2 folders, remember these 2 folders suppose to be inside other folder.

For example inside mfs2020 you put these 2 folders, so you will have to select mfs2020 folder when choosing from browse.

Hi,
I am having a new system built now. I configured it with a NVMe M.2 1 TB drive on which they installed the OS. and a 2 TB sata drive. I would like to install FS2020 on the faster SSD, but see postings about it being better to install on a separate drive. Aren’t I better off having FS2020 on the fast SSD drive, or will it mess things up. I’d rather not have to buy another SSD drive as I just spent a lot of money.
System will have a I9 10850k, 32 GB 3200 Ram, and RTX 3080.
Thanks,

I’m sure you’ve gotten this answered but… in terms of INSTALLATION of software, I would reinstall that and KEEP on CDrive… I installed that “Content/Update” Manager Software (the 91GB) on a separate drive… That way, if I ever have to reinstall program from scratch (I’ve done that 5 times, for VARIOUS reasons, including new OS), you can reinstall base program (it takes2 minutes), then POINT that Content folder to your 2nd drive… that 91GB of files just need to be referenced, not installed upon… Very nice sub-feature of installing this sim.
