Hi folks, had a problem while installing MFS2020. I had the installation going overnight, had to leave the game open and all that. My building had a power outage and thats obviously stopped my download. Woke up and started the download again and none of the progress had been saved, however, what had been installed was still taking up disc space. Now I dont have enough disc space to install it. Anyone have any idea how I can either clear the downloaded stuff from my disc or recover that for the new installation? Thanks in advance friends.
I’m not an expert at this, but I do know that MSFS makes no registration entries.
Only the installer and x-box make entries.
If the installer wants to start from scratch, you should just delete the old content, that being the case.
If you do have a spot to store it on, externally, or another drive, it wouldn’t hurt, but I don’t think that is necessary.
Go to Win 10 Settings and then Apps. Undelete FS2020.
Go to Microsoft Store and install FS2020.
Note: Don’t know about Steam
My FS2020 is via Microsoft Store.
Drive 0 = Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB
- Win10 partition = 100GB, FS2020 partition = rest of drive
Before, I did two complete re-installs. Deleted FS2020 folder and then went to the MS Store to install it again. (hours > day)
Last time, I went to Win 10 Settings - Apps and uninstalled FS2020.
Went to MS Store and installed FS2020.
This time, it only downloaded the initial 1.06GB (15 minutes) and then displayed FS2020 (ready to fly).
Before it downloaded the 1.06 GB and then the 109 GB (hours >day).
