Mine isn’t installing since yesterday evening. I left it running all night, progress bar stuck at about 20%, now I restarted it after 6 hours, and still stuck. Majorly disappointed.
No problem. It went away after I disable my antivirus (Bitdefender) and reinstall the game. Maybe the problem was on my end.

I have an image of the airplane, music and a blue bar that is not moving. I pre-ordered. Is it locked up, or what?

Kill it (Alt+F4) and restart.
I can confirm for now the installation is working on my beta ring build of windows 10 I’m using the xbox beta app to do it
What version of windows you got?
I kinda don’t like that you have to connect with your hotmail account. That should be optional for Steam users.

Having paid out £110 for the Premium Deluxe Edition, I am really fed up that after 5 hours of messing around, I still can’t even get the game to run. Microsoft, I am a lifelong fan of this game, but I am really fed up thus far.
i have same issue
Completely uninstalled. It comes up and skips past the “setup your experience” menus I did the very first time I installed and goes right to trying to download the game. It downloads the first 900mb or so and then starts stuttering and restarts again from scratch. It just keeps doing this again and again in a loop no matter how many times I restart. This sucks 
For those with the blue bar stuck:
Navigate to your settings in windows and go to the “XBox Networking” page. You will notice that the NAT type will have some sort of error. Click the “Fix it” button and the error should change to “moderate” (At least in my case). After that, restart your sim.

I’m working trying to fix insider now trying ■■■■ load of things
I cant play it asks for a “game disc” to be insterted
for the record I have never messed with regional settings to have a chance of early access
