Installation Issues & Bugs Megathread

Oh OK because my windows profile name is “Sinoué”

Yes. That will likely be your problem.

Edit: can you and @Tofifil file a bug report on Zendesk describing your issue and you fixed it.

I’m having the same issue. Did you ever figure out what was wrong?

Wont install tried restarting pc but it refuses to download it just saying please wait

there is a solution to this listed in this thread.

I have been literally trying to download this game since 12 am last night. I got up to 95% downloaded, then it locked up. So, I uninstalled and reinstalled and I have downloaded about 15% and it is stuck on Please Wait. And won’t do anything. I am really starting to get ■■■■■■ off. My download speed is 203 and my upload is 30, more than enough to download this game and in a fast time also. A Youtuber I watch downloaded this game off steam and had it downloaded in 3 hours. And I am trying to download off the Microsoft store and its been 17 hours + and no game.

ive had exactly the same, been downloading since 4pm, its now 01:20, 15% is all its managed, i’d hazard a guess that the msft servers are being hammered for this…

its just such a shame and they knew that this was a highly expected title and could assume all the bugs and all that would come out with it, was just hoping and counting on them getting all of these bugs out of the way before release not days or weeks after when so many have bought it and cant play it and cant find answers to the problems, (just venting a little)

I’m getting the same error.

Yes it worked. I just restarted it and it downloaded another 75GB then everything went smoothly.

Is anyone else having the game only detect 6gb of vram instead of the cards 8gb? I have an R9 390 8gb.

Are you using insider builds or release?

It would venture to guess they see all this frustration and are working diligently to get a solution. Having just updated the Windows Insider build a few days ago, who knows exactly what changes there could affect this install. Early on there were issues with Microsoft Store apps, then occasionally after some new feature builds. For non-Insider OS builds, it’s sometimes up to the user and how general updates get deployed as to whether the latest OS update is installed. Sometimes changing the build type from debug to release, if something is off between them (debug adds more tracing details), it’s unexpected. It’s hard to replicate 100,000 system configurations with 100 test users. That’s a tradeoff when users don’t want to take surveys - how do you know user system configurations when they won’t allow tracing user behavior or won’t take surveys? It’s definitely a challenge this day in age.

We’ll get planning our IFRs quite soon and experience the visual bliss soon enough.

We all need a little more patience. Each fix clears a bunch of users to install. This narrows down each subset of players without a good install. It kind of works alright to throttle users getting into the system - it’s helpful to think “what good is coming from this?”

My download is having a strange issue where it looks to download the fs-base-cgl-0.[numbers].fspackage.[numbers] over and over. i noticed this on fspackage 6 and it has been doing this for 9 hours now. The download will go up by a few percentage then the “Downloading [file]…” will flash and the percent will go back by a few percent and it will repeat that. When I go to task manager i can see that MS Flight Sim is receiving data at a near constant 30mb/s so it looks to be downloading the same file over and over. it says I have 19.98GiB to go but according to my data usage the game has downloaded 105.99GB already. I’m not sure how big the game is but the way the launcher is behaving this doesn’t seem right. It’s fair to say the servers are getting owned by everyone trying to download this but this still looks weird like its downloading these fspackages more than once. Anyone seeing this as well or have any ideas here? I could let this go all night but it has been on fspackage.023 for about 2 hours which is far longer than any of the other ones.

have you checked what’s reported in “dxdiag” ?

I’m familiar with Nvidia and I remember something about maybe it’s system RAM, something gets reserved for PhysX ops, and the reported RAM changed than actual. When I added a second card with SLI, the reported RAM got “corrected”.

Hello. I started downloading it at 12am this morning, and it’s been downloading since. It’s not close to being done yet… I’ve tried doing everything that people said to do, but it’s not done yet. Anyone know what to do?

Not here to complain but to ask for help from Steam users. The launcher size on steam was 1100Mb roughly. Once the launcher was installed, it asked where i want the main client installed (92gb size) during my first installation. i selected my steam founder where all steam games are installed (steamapp/common). When i load the client for the first time, it preselected “high end” graphic settings. (Nvidia 2070 Super with latest drivers) however the game crashed at main menu within 10-20 secs. I changed the settings to medium graphics but would still crash. So i uninstalled and deleted all folders.

After deleted all the game folders manually, I did a fresh install again. I assumed the install was complete but it may have crashed since the launcher was no longer on my desktop. The reason why i assumed it was complete because when i launched the game, i was on the game main menu. The game did crash after 10 sec. When i relaunched the game, the update menu shows a 7gb size update. I am not sure if this is a patch or if the launcher is resuming the install. Has anyone else experience something similar?

This did not work. Still says insert disk.
I have done everything possible. Windows fully up to date. Deleted and reinstalled the Digital Ownership. Follow this list you linked to.

Nothing is working, how do we fix this problem!

I got past that issue after signing off and signing in again in the XBOX App.
