Installation manager not responding

Tried to install the update 5 from the store. It hung for hours with a picture of African wildlife and checking for updates. I had to close the task to get back to other work.

Tried again, after many hours it got to as installation manager. Says 40 GIB to install. Click on the button, nothing happens. Been waiting for over an hour.

Have I broken things by ending the taks using hte program manager?
Should I do a reinstall of MSFS ( premium deluxe edition)

If I do, will I have to also reinstall all the world updates again?

(Really frustrated as I spent about a month building a switch box to emulate the Cessna cockpit without having to use a mouse on the screen. Tonight was meant to be a test flight to check all the systems)

Not working for me either, sim won’t even start.

Check for updates to the WIndows Store app itself (not for updates for apps bought through the store), as well as pending updates to Windows Operating System. Both of those have figured in the past as preventing the sim from starting.

Been trying to get it to downloading for more than 24 hours, get the warning “Online services are unreachable…” message. Also I do not even get to see what the installation size would be in the Installation Manager, it just spins “Checking for Updates” and displaying the Warning Message like every few seconds. This has been for almost 30 hours now… In the mean time I am pre-installing “The Ascent” just fine… Is there anything I can do to get the sim update 5 actually started???

Ditto Ranger

Had the same here, uninstall, delete traces of MSFS folders (!, or it won’t do a proper re-install), new install 127GB @ 2–2..5 MB download
BTW
Windowing and minimizing the windows of the ''installation manager" dropped my GPU use from 90% to 40% (and my fans)

Update.

Rebooted my router. Then restarted the Sim as administrator. Startup at normal speed, checked for updates and went to installation manager. Clicked on update and IT WORKED! Full speed download and no issues.

The router was working fine to other sites. So I’m guessing there was an issue routing to the MS servers or it was routing to a duff server. Rebooting cleared the table and I got a good connection.
Now to see the damages they have done with this update :frowning:
