Installing MODS and use them question

I’m kinda of new to MSFS 2020 and I would like to get a little deeper into the sim. I haven’t got the first clue on how and where to install downloaded MODS. Any advice for a rookie on how to add 3rd party (or any for that matter) MODS? Anything would be helpful especially what not to do to mess up the game files and folders/paths. Thanks

Download the Flybywire a32nx mod, it adds so much more to the default a320

I recommend downloading the installer. They are working on an a380 but that won’t be out for a while. It’s all free!

Hi X2Clutch

I use a little APP called AddonsLinker which you can find on flightsim.to, to manage my addons.

It means that my addons are stored on a separate drive outside of my community folder. I simply decide what Addons I wish to use for a particular flight enable them before starting the sim and off we go. I find that this reduces loading times as the list of Addons grows and I seem to have very little trouble with addons clashing and causing issues. I find it also allows me to quickly identify an issue with a newly installed Addon. Its a very quick job to disable the addon, reload the sim and test again without the need to cut and paste files all over the place. I also disable all of my addons with a couple of clicks before updating the SIM so there is nothing inside my community folder.

Maybe worth you checking it out, there are youtube videos of how to install and use it as well.

What ever way you choose good luck with it.

A Addons Manager is extremely recommended! (Startup Time MSFS!)

You basically just dump them into the Community folder which would be wherever you chose to download the game files to when it first started.

Thanks for all the useful and helpful information to adding community developed content. I finally found where my community folder was hiding and so far the only addition to it has been the a320neo and the developers airport outside of 29 Palms. Thanks for the tip on using an “outside” or separate drive to install them @TicTocRock I had no idea it could have an impact on load times and helping with game crash ID. Killer information because my M.2 with MSFS on it is about 96% full… with some room for mandatory updates of course. I’m using FSpilot on a tablet and the server installed on my PC as well. Defiantly will be dipping my toes into more dev content soon and some contributions (as I learn more along the way)

Cheers,
