Installing Scenery

I have P:\MSFS\Community as my install folder for Airports/Scenery and most setups use that folder but sometimes an airport will install in P:\WpSystem\S-1-5-21-1440043408-4031706467-116582071-1001\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community. When it does MSFS doesn’t find it. The Prosim737 Module also installed there and because of that the doors won’t open. I’ve tried moving them to my install folder but it won’t let me. How do I get scenery to install to the correct folder?

Jerry

I would reinstall them, make sure the installer points to the correct community folder.

The only way I know to move anything out of that location is to make a “Zip” with the affected folder, and then unzip in the correct place.
However, if the installer created any registry entries, the addon may not work in the sim, as they will be pointed to the other location.

Some installers don’t ask what folder to install into. I wonder if I just deleted that Community folder they would find the right one? Is there a way to find those registry entries and remove them?

Jerry

It wouldn’t surprise me if the airport doesn’t have any registry entries, most don’t.

It’s hard to say what Prosim might have.
You would need to contact them and see what entries they may use, they could be called anything.
You could try moving it and see what happens.

As far as deletion goes, you could try that, but I suspect it may not delete.

I re-installed it as administrator and was then able to move it but it doesn’t seem to be recognized because none of its functions are working. The Prosim737 Flight model install did ask for the location of my Community folder and I was able to point it to the correct one but the Module installer didn’t ask.

Jerry

If you installed it as an administrator, the sim may not be able to use it due to its security settings.
Did the Prosim work at all?

I can fly the aircraft fine but the animations that are controlled by the Prosim Module are not working. ex. doors opening, spoilers, flaps. Landing gear and rudder animations are working but I don’t think the module controls them.

I think the best suggestion here would be to contact their support at: Jira Service Management

I’ve been on the forum several times but they haven’t come up with a solution. They just say try re-installing it or moving it to the correct Community folder. I’ve tried that several times. I’ll try [Jira Service Management, thanks for the suggestion.
