As soon as I press any key on the splash screen when I start the game it spins and then crashes. Only have the launcher installed, will not give any options to do anything.
What gives?

Try unplugging all your controllers and running the sim as admin
Thanks mate, tried that but still after key press, small spin in lower right corner and crash.

I cant even get the game to install crashes to desktop
I sent a service request for this issue just now. Will see what they say. I havent seen anyone with a fix for this yet. If anyone has, feel free to share!!
Glad to see I am not the only one, not impressed with the staggered rollout, this could have been avoided by letting us preload the game.

After the Splash-Screen and hit any button to continue. The screen will become black and the message press any key is still there. If i hit any key again nothing happens. Tried to reinstall, new GPU Driver, new Windows Update. But unfortunately no change.

Same problem as well although I get to through to the checking for update screen and then crashes shortly after this. Hopefully we can get a fix for this!
Checked the install details - only 991MB is used. Looks like an incomplete install to me.
Out of interest .. can anybody login onto the flightsimulator homepage?
I get an auth error in the address bar if I try to login..
I got it. You have to launch it over the XBox Beta App. That works for me now.
If you don´t have the App, download it over the Store.

I think it trips over when it cant log on to the verification server (firewall / antivirus / congestion)
Tried to turn all off, before i went over to the XBox App. Had also no effect. Try to search in this Forum about the soution, that i recommend. Unfortunately i cannot put a link inside here. Don´t know why, but is not allowed for me.

Add one more to the list… it doesn’t seem to poll the network much at all after the initial sequence of activity - certainly nothing to suggest that its looking for the missing 130+GB of data.
Tried using the XBox app, and have tried every WSReset, store reset (powershell ones included), run as admin bla bla bla on both this forum and reddit. Nothing works.
Just reports that the flightsimulator.exe has stopped working, goes to generate and error report then stops altogether.
It makes you wonder how something like this can slip through the alpha and beta process. When youtubers get free copies of the game they are going to make streams not actually test the sim in terms of how it installs, purchase from store etc…
Yes it generated hype, and rightfully so, but the issues were never noticed by doing a alpha/beta stage with youtube celebs…
