I am new to MSFS. This has beautiful scenery and so far that is as much as I can say is good for it.
Obviously, being brand new to the game and not having experienced flight sims like this before, I am going to have a learning curve. However, I expected some ease with all the aids on and set to easy.
I didn’t jump into just flying around. I went to the tutorial. I didn’t get far with the tutorial as I kept crashing. Every time I made a turn of some kind I would lose balance of the aircraft and it would be impossible to regain control. Slight turns would only get me so far when I am flying out of the training area and needing to turn around. Eventually I would need to make slightly tighter turns. My flight instructor seems to have no concern about letting the aircraft crash when I have obviously lost control. And the icing on the cake - I have to restart the tutorial every time I crash for the second time and repeat myself. However, in the free flying world, when I crash I just sit on the ground. I still have to restart to get back in the air as there doesn’t seem to be anyway to retake off.
It is curious why the tutorial doesn’t just keep resetting you into the air when you crash like it does the first time you crash. Why does it make me have to keep repeating the tutorial? It is tedious keep being told how to look around when the trouble is with keeping the aircraft balanced during turns. By this I mean straightening the aircraft up when turning.
My controls are all done through the keyboard. Either this is going to take hours of repeating the first tutorial until I can keep my aircraft in the air (which is likely to take many many many hours consuming the rest of the year at best) or deleting the game from my computer (as it takes up over 150GB) and never spending any money on this product in the future. One of the things that drew me to this game was the chance to explore the realism of the world. I am left behind by not being an avid simulator flyer. It would be nice to put in dunce controls for people like me so that flying is as easy as arcade style controls for those that want to explore in between taking lessons at more realistic simulation controls. Or maybe the controls for this game are really overly rubbish? I wouldn’t know as I am new to this game and this is likely to be a short lived experience.
