Intrusive "device disconnected" pop up when quest 3 controllers goes to sleep mode

Every time that i put the quest 3 controllers over the table, after a few seconds i get the intrusive message in the middle of the screen that i have a disconnected device. It’s normal the quest 3 controllers going to sleep mode after some time without use, but with SU4 i’m having this unecessary pop up message, that disappears the moment i touch the controllers again.

Can you please remove this pop-up message? Thanks!

Same issue - however might actually be an issue connecting to controllers… looks to me like the beta think’s it’s talking to an xbox and looking for xbox controllers when running on a PC w/o such controllers.

In my case: entered this week’s landing challenge; switched to VR mode. Was unable to select the yellow icon to start the flight using the mouse or Meta Quest controllers. Left VR and started with mouse; then re-entered VR. At that point the rotor brake came on (i have a slider mapped to it); the slider didn’t do anything; was able to move the rotor brake with the mouse but it kept flipping back. Needless to say, this did not end well.

I get the same message, including the picture of the Xbox controller.

Popping up continually - irrelevant and very annoying.

Same here, as soon as they go to sleep when put aside after using.

This must be one of the most annoying things I’ve seen using VR in the last 5 years.
Controllers going in standby should not exist in the first place, and when they wake up this intrusive alert is being displayed at every 10 to 20 seconds.

I get this same pop-up that will not go away until the controllers are picked up again.

This bug is still present in the latest update.

NB: This bug is not only in the Quest 3 - I get it in my Quest 2. I don’t know if other headsets suffer as well.

This annoying bug is still present with 1.6.13

The pop up seems to show for a shorter period of time but it is still really annoying.

Don’t know how to attract Dev attention…. Sim running running so nicely with the exemption of this popup.

Please.

Still happening for me in 1.6.13. It doesn’t sound much of a problem, it’s just that it really breaks the immersion.

I do wonder if it’s connected with the mouse problem:

Moving the mouse seems to cause the pop-up to disappear, even though the mouse is not visible on the screen (though this may just be a coincidence when I’ve seen it happen).

Thank you for the bug report.

We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged.

Sadly, still not solved in 1.6.15

really disapointing. Sim now running really nicely in VR and now we get this really annoying message poping up.

please, please, please… remove that useless popup.

Supplemental info

  • On my setup with Quest 3, about 2 seconds after I stop moving controllers, the “device disconnected” pop-up appears.

  • I left it for 60 seconds; it does not disappear on its own — only going away if I move the mouse or re-engage a controller.

I hope this gets attention, it really breaks immersion.

Same issue in today beta 1.6.16

Asobo , how to move from feedback-logged to Bug-logged status. That issue really need to be solved. Really annoying to have this disconnection popup each time we stop using the quest 3 controller.

tbh, moving to bug-logged status is no guarantee of an imminent fix.

However, as it seems to be associated with the mouse problem (which is bug-logged), I’m more hopeful we will get both problems fixed at the same time, preferably before the end of beta.

VR does not seem to be flavour of the month, so don’t hold your breath.

I agree, I don’t need to see this message ever.

Same here (SU4 16)

I would consider abandoning 2024 I’ve been on since SU2 if it is not fixed as part of final SU4. For now, going back to SU3.

For those wondering… that useless “disconnect” message is still there with the latest 1.6.18

Still not solved in today beta… 1.6.19.0

look like that nobody at Asobo use their VR headset !

:white_question_mark: Question… is it also the same issue with VR headset other than Quest3?
