Thank you.
Very much enjoying the Jabiru!
Thank you.
Very much enjoying the Jabiru!
Can anyone give an update on how the flight model is now?
To clarify, weâre seeing ~10fps worse performance on the fully glass-cockpit J170D compared to glass-cockpit aircraft in the base game. Is this a known behavior?
Yes itâs known behaviour using XML coded gauges instead of HTML5 content.
Below are two shots, one using the custom made EFIS and the other using default backup ADI.
Would you be happy with the default ADI if it got you improved performance as shown below;
BTW, my rig is Ryzen 3700 X, 64GB RAM and a RTX 2080 Super with graphics set to default HIGH-END.
I would prefer the ADI type, because my PC is one of the weaker ones.
Would it be possible to offer a variant with the ADI for the selection for the liveries?
That would be great.
Yes, I would also like to see the default ADI for better performance.
I have not tested this at all, but if someone is worried enough about their FPS, tweaking your panel.cfg for the models youâre having issues with might help.
for instance, in â\IRIS_J160\Panel.D\panel.cfgâ there is a line forâŠ
[Vcockpit02]
size_mm=1024,1024
pixel_size=1024,1024
texture=$RADIOS
Playing with those numbers (maybe 512, 512) may improve your FPS without a noticeable difference in quality.
Itâs not affecting me enough to be motivated to mess with, so youâre on your own if you do! lol
That would benefit FSX but doesnât benefit MSFS. Iâve reworked the code to reduce use of XML gauges. The Tablet causes an FPS hit as does the ADI which has now been replaced with the HTML5 coded standby gauge.
The Tablet when stowed turns off which frees up frames.
See my image below.
It figures, if only I actually knew what I was talking about. lol
Good to hear you found another way to address the issue for those affected!
Is it live yet? Canât wait. ![]()
My doors are randomly open, when pressing on the doors they dont close
I would also prefer the default ADI since on medium-high settings it cuts my performance somewhat worse than yours (40ish fps to 28-29fps), but for the interest of realism I do understand why youâd want to keep things as-is.
Even the fully glass-cockpit J170D has the FPS hit for me, not just the ones with the small AFIS ADI.
Default for better fps, please. ![]()
Would like to have a Jabiru with classic gauges but with an autopilot. ![]()
Just had my first fly of these aircraft. Very enjoyable and really nice modelling.
Other than stalling characteristics not being quite right, my only complaint so far is the mixture control isnât automatic when in the real aircraft it is. I use the wheel on my Thrustmaster TWCS throttle to control mixture on aircraft that has manual mixture control. Itâs causing performance changes for this aircraft, even cutting the engine out when on minimum. In addition to this, when it cuts out, all the switches get reset and the aircraft can only be restarted with CTRL-E.
I am finding this a good aircraft overall. Stall behaviour at edge of envelope seems a bit out but in a more typical flight, especially at normal circuit speeds and attitudes, it is actually pretty good. very stable once trimmed.
Visually it is now better with the recent patches - though the actual dash panels and the big red warning labels are a both bit âflatâ and hence look artificial, a simple layer with some random variation (something like a photo of leaves or flowers would do it) at 5% or less opacity placed over those texture files would make the world of difference to the overall feel and be much more realistic.
On the subject of appearance there is a glitch in the 170 panels with the text labels on the bottom right of the panel flickering, it is as if some of the writing is flipping above and below the dash panel . Very minor thing but one of those things you cannot âunseeâ once you notice it.
So how about the ADI fix? Can we get the HTML5 version for download? Thank you.
The official MSFS patch #6 did not fix the fps problems with the Jabiru for me. Still a 5 fps loss with the ADI turned on.
1.2.5 should have fixed that, if not, 1.3 due on Nov 14th will. ![]()
The aircraft does in fact have an auto mixture control. Every one second it checks the system and sets the mixture to best richness depending on alt/etc. If you have a device that overrides that, it will always override the code, but one second later, the sim will then override your control.
Point of note, donât fiddle with your mixture lever! ![]()
