Is a serious update expected? Or will we continue to suffer?

I’m unfamiliar the Airbus and have not flown it yet, so I mean for 747 and 787 aircraft,
The MCP behaves strangely and unresponsive. (does not hold speed, does not hold altitude, does not hold direction (HDG), can not change flight plan in the air, the FLCH is just there and gets bored doing nothing, etc., etc.)
Most of the important features in FMC do not exist (it is not possible to set speed / ALT in VNAN, it is not possible to plan a flight and you have to go to the main screen to plan a route, etc., etc.)
The plane behaves stupidly and does what it pleases.

I note that I have:

  1. I Set Flight Model to modern, not legacy.
  2. The assists settings is set to Hard / True to Life.
  3. The AI Copilot control is off.
  4. The dead-zones to all my axis controls are 5% or more.
I do not think the problem at these points, the flight module is screwed.
Is a repair or serious update expected?

Sorry I’m a little blunt, but it’s really depressing :frowning:

Regards.

Given that it takes a titanic effort to mod airliners to something decent (the A320NX development patches are being issued almost on a daily basis) and no similar initiative that I know of exists on the Boeing side. Given that trusted third-party commercial developers are at least a year away from releasing their products for the MSFS platform, based on their own announcements. I would say that for the next 12 months we are bound to take the Boeing aircraft for what they are, pretty models that are fun for casual flying.

Did you put in the deadzones?
That is the single most important step that prevents this problem as the autopilot in MSFS is very susceptible to signals from a controller that is close, but not 100% on dead center when released.

If you have done that and no luck, what are you using for a throttle?

The waypoint change is an issue, some waypoints can and some can’t.
Generally STARS waypoints wont.
There are numerous posts on this.
Do a search for “787 waypoints” to get some input.

Right now, there is an issue with icing which is preventing the planes from climbing properly
see this thread:

Do yourself a favor, get the just released stable version of the mod for the A320 and use that.
It is quite good, and not that hard to learn.

  1. deadzones - 12% for all axesת it is very stable, there is no involuntary change in steering or throttle.
  2. Logitech joystick.
I’m used to flying in FSX with PMDG, and this simulator drives me crazy !!

As you say, in the meantime I will suffer patiently.

I was wondering about the joystick because thrustmaster’s seem to have issues with MSFS which can cause this.
I haven’t seen this from a logitech.

Don’t give up, try the stable A320 mod which was just released.
If you are unfamiliar with the mod,
It is really nice, and works quite well with MSFS.

Here is a link to their installer, it is a one click thing to use.

@DireBasilisk19 while you wait for the wide body Boeing jets and/or the A320 to be fixed/patched/released as study level payware, do yourself a favor (if you have not already), and check out the Cessna Cj4 by working title. Available here:

It is a jet, with a great flight model, fully functional FMC and Flight Navigation system that they built from scratch (with optional sim brief integration). Functional FADEC, VNAV, LNAV, Holds, custom weigh points, RNAV approaches and the list goes on… It is still in beta, but the autopilot is rock solid and is able to follow a flight plan and calculate TOD etc… and it is awesome fun to fly.

New pilot?! Here you find everything about the 787 - Guides / New Pilot Help & Guides - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums

Print this out about 40 odd pages. It helped me immensely on both 747 and 787. With the latest patch last week, both planes seem more stable for me. Had not had successful landing in 747, last week first one, it was not pretty, but got credit for it. Same with 787, it’s squirrely with the FBW implementation, and the auto throttle, which if just TOGO, disable and control it manually. Using Logitech 3D Pro for now, with Honeycomb TQ unit I just got delivered. Let us know if this helps. I don’t fly 320 at all. Was taught Navigation by DC-10 Pilot Friend, so if it aint Boeing aint going. DC-10 was POS, Boeings attempts to fix it were not as successful as they hoped. Lockheed L-1011 was excellent plane though, several airlines asked them to put it back in production, they said no.

They will never be released by ASOBO as study level.
They have repeatedly stated that is not their intent.
So don’t hold your breath on that.

Bring on the payware!

Or, use the awesome freeware cj4 that is available to download right now, and donate $100 bucks to charity. This mod in it’s current state is as good as anything that useYourRealNameDMG or malwareSimLabs will peddle in the future.

Haven’t you seen this?

@DireBasilisk19 the default A320 is limited, yes. The link above is a freeware mod which improves the A320 a whole lot.

If you see that these people are already 5 months underway with 100+ people to get here, you might get an idea what an enormous task it is to have 1 aircraft to full-simulation state. Let alone 22 planes. That’s why default planes in MSFS will never by fully functional.

Yep, not impressed to be honest. I stand by my comment that the CJ4 with the working title mod, is the only jet in MSFS2020 that is feature complete to the real aircraft, and includes VNAV, LNAV, FADEC, FD, FMC with SIDS, STARS, RNAV Approaches, Holds, I can fly this plane on Vatsim, in VR, with excellent performance and cockpit visuals… Last time I checked, I can’t do that with the A32NX… but feel free to change my mind.

When was the last time you checked?
With the A320 mod, depending on version,
the only thing I see on your list that is not 100% is VNAV, (although not perfect by any means, it does actually consistently work) and maybe holds, I haven’t tried holds.
You shouldn’t have any Vatsim issues with it.
Is it as good as the CJ4?
I would say it is close.

Chuck Norris can fly and land the 747, 787 and A320 of FS2020 on a I3 pc, with no ram and 2gb of vram while doing exercise…so it is possible.

Joking a side…yes, …we need to suffer patiently, altough i have been consuming months of that patient.!! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

LOL… Chuck must be at least 104 years old nowadays
The other guy, Harrison Ford is specialized in wrecking beavers…
