Is anyone using Lossless Scaling on MSFS?

So I’ve been messing around with graphics settings in FS2024 this morning. The NVidia App now recognizes MSFS2024, so I tried the optimized settings and they are not bad. It sets VSYNC to OFF and DLSS to ‘performance’ with my 3090 (at 4K output) and frame rates are in the 40-59 range depending on what I’m doing (this morning it was a quick flight in the R66 over Palermo, Sicily, TLOD=200), these settings were not bad as far as smoothness goes. I’m also using the latest NVidia 566.36 drivers, with no loss less scaling frame gen.

HOWEVER I still find that for an even smoother experience eg. while panning around cockpit that having VSYNC ON at 50% of 60Hz so 30FPS base (60FPS with x2 frame gen) or 33% of 60Hz so 20FPS base (60FPS with x3 frame gen) is still the smoothest overall to the eye when using Lossless Scaling frame gen (LSFG 2.3).

I also tried 120Hz Refresh rate with 33% VSYNC targeting 40FPS but this did not seem to lead to any visual improvement. It was not any smoother adding in lossless scaling at 2x Frame Gen targeting 80FPS. So I’m going to be sticking with a 60Hz refresh rate.

Last night I flew some of the fast and low challenges and apart from scenery streaming taking a while to load in, I had very smooth game play with settings of 20FPS base VSYNC ON (60FPS with (x3) frame gen) with Lossless Scaling. So it’s still a go to setting for me. You can also have Dynamic (changes LOD) Settings in sim target 20FPS too. This might be unnecessary, but it doesn’t seem to harm smoothness too much.

Update: I have to say having tested it for a while that 30FPS base VSYNC ON 50% of 60Hz RR (60FPS with (x2) frame gen with Lossless Scaling) and Dynamic FPS set to 30FPS in sim is a very smooth experience too. So there are now two settings for me to choose from.
