Is FSHUD worth buying?

It is still very unclear when BATC will be released and there is no real good alternative on the market yet. I am thinking of giving FSHUD a try. Is it worth buying?

I’ve used it on every flight since it was released, and it has developed nicely. Nevertheless, I’m following the developments of BATC, and it will be a day-one purchase for me.

I’ve tried Pilot2ATC ProATC and FSHud.
In order of preference I would choose FSHud a definite first with ProATC a resounding last.
It works reasonably well but with a few frustrations. I have got very frustrated with approach vectors from time to time but I have begun to understand its shortfalls and know when to be wary.
Yes roll on BATC and yes I’m in for a day one purchase.

Same here, I’ll definately will go for BATC but for the months to come I will use FSHUD, thanks!

Ok, FSHUD installed and it’s working. A few questions:

  1. Is there an option to fly in Multiplayer and hear the ATC that your friends get as well? (probably not)
  2. The initial climb is always very high, is that normal? (much higher than what SID says)
  3. Is there a manual available? (I only see the limited FAQ)
  4. Is voice control an option?
  5. Can I manually control the frequencies (so the copilot can take a break?)
  6. After vacating the runway I switch to ground, nothing happens from here and I don’t have the option to contact ground. Is that normal? (after 5+ minutes I got the taxi instructions)

  2. They can clear you. If you have waypoints like A4000, A8000, A16000 you can get straight 16000ft or higher. If it’s like A4000, B8000, A16000 first you will have 8000ft instruction
  3. IIRC there was, but it has been removed a while ago

  5. Untick in the options in the flight experiences (auto com ch change and transponder) and that should work
  6. After runway vacated (and been cleared to land previously) you should get straight the ground freq. and from them get instructions the taxiways and gate number. If something happened against the algorithm it may mix up the things
