Is it just me - Each menu selection requires double click?

Not a big deal in any way, but I’ve wondered this. When it comes to clicking on “Fly” or “Back to Menu” and other in game main menu options (ie. doesn’t affect in flight menu options) I’ve noticed every time I have to click twice. Like the first click is more a “select” click then the second finally initiates the selection. Is this just me? Simple question.

I’m thinking that perhaps your cursor focus is in another window, and you must first click the MSFS window, and then the item (or button) you are on. I’ve noticed this on occasion, but then again, I have three different monitors going… so it’s easy to lose focus.

Just my $.02.

Nope, no other windows open. I’m an IT guy for a living, so we can skip the usual user misunderstandings . I also don’t have this issue with any other app/game. Like I said, not a big issue by any means. Just sometimes I’ll click to select landing challenge or to start a flight then turn around to take a quick sip of my drink or whatever then turn around to see I have to click again. Minor nuisance.

Could it be that you are maybe in a windowed mode? The only time I’ve had this issue was when the MSFS window is not in focus and I click on an item, which as you know then focuses the window and needs another click to continue. Very weird, is this every single menu item or just an occasional thing?

Like others have said, the only time that happens to me is if the MSFS window doesn’t have focus. Once I click back into the window, everything is a single click again as normal.

I don’t know if this is related but I find I have to double-click the ATC window quite frequently while in flight. I’ve never noticed anything like that in the main menu system but I’ll keep an eye out for it… (yep, I’m in full screen mode; not windowed).

Not in windowed mode. I always play it fullscreen. I also don’t run any other software whatsoever outside of avg anti-virus which is also set to not disturb Flight Simulator while running.

Understood. I spent two decades in tech support, long before it was called IT. Sometimes you just have to start with, “Is it plugged in?” No offence intended.

Watching this thread with great interest. For the answer to your situation.

I’ve had times when I had to close the window and reopen it in order to select menu items shown at the bottom.

I am seeing this as well “recently”, but I do not recall this being an issue before some of the more recent updates… so I will tend to agree with you, something has changed for the worse.

I have always typically run in Window Mode (for whatever reason), and I am reasonably sure, this focus issue, and the need to click twice on some menu items, when changing focus between screens, did not exist last year.

And yes, its starting to get “annoying” – mainly because it should not be necessary.
My GUT feeling is that it has something to do with XBOX compatibility, or at least some change that was made to support Xbox – no proof, just a “Gut feeling” based on a number of Xbox functions.

I think this happens to me as well. It’s really frustrating and I’m not coming from an unfocused window

Happens to me as well, I think the UI is inadvertently clunky because of the design direction the chose. It doesn’t like when I move quickly through the pages and menus, almost like the animations can’t keep up. If I slow down then its more responsive. (running on Ryzen 5 3600 and NVME SSD)

It happens to me as well, and as the others stated it’s because of the MSFS window losing focus. (even though it is full screen)

You don’t have to have any other program running in the background to loose focus on a (full screen) window. It’s a Windows issue.

I do however believe the devs can make it so that a button click registers with one click even if the window is not focussed.

Its not just you mate sometimes it’s taken 3 or 4 clicks before it kicks in

No offense taken whatsoever! I’ve been working as an IT Tech for over 21 years so I know exactly what you mean
