Anyone know of a program I can use to cap the game at 30fps ? I regularly get between 35-45fps but get little micro stutters when it fluctuates by more than 5fps. Would rather just cap it at 30fps to avoid the dips.
I ask because in game Vsync is broken
Yes, Iâve done this with Rivatuner Statistics Server (RTSS). It works just fine!
The only gotcha is that when you add the game, you canât browse to the full path due to permission issues. What you instead do is simply type in âFlightSimulator.exeâ in the file name box even though you are not in the correct folder. It will add the executable name and everything works after that.
Iâm capping it via Nvidia Control Panel

NVidia Control Panel works for me (see the âManage 3D Settingsâ tab). You may have to deselect âShow only programs found on this computerâ to find the right program: NVidia lists it as âMicrosoft flight Simulator (flightsimulator.exe)â.
I use it to set a compromise 45 fps on my high-end system.
Edit: beaten to it by TomMaverick91 above.

Whats the benefit like for FPS capping in FS?
The benefit? It seems less prone to stutter, though Iâm mainly capping it so I can run it without my graphics card going into afterburner mode all the time. The noise of a jet engine in the background isnât really appropriate when Iâm flying a Cub.

When it comes to stutters, loading scenery, etc, everything is about balance with this software. Capping FPS can aid in that. Itâs a tool.
In my case, like mentioned, itâs mainly to keep my temps down, since I donât need 70+ FPS. It also fixes a particular crash in my case also.

Hmm well I tried capping via Nvidia control panel to 30fps but it results in my frame rate staying in the low 20âs⊠bizarre.
Interesting. In my FS2020 I can set either 30 or 60 fps limiter. You only see 60 in yours?
