Is it possible to change the sound of the TBM930 or any other plane?

Dear all,

I want to fly an electric plane. Up to now I only found these planes:

But there are a lot of reasons why these planes are less then the TBM, like the visibility you have around you in the cockpit, and there are no doors that can open.

But I do like the sound of these planes, that is what I am looking for.

Is there a way, to transfer the sound from these DA airplanes above to the TBM930?

I would like to fly an electric plane, so in that way I would make the TBM electric have an electric sound.

Is this possible, changing the sound of the TBM?

And if this is not possible, is perhaps some other plane in MSFS easier to modify to the electric sound of these 2 DA planes above?

Or is that a mission impossible, and can that only be done by a professional developer?

If anyone knows, please let me know.

Also any other ideas that can help me realize this are welcome.

Greetings,

Boudewijn

I’ve replaced sound files for some planes over the years, but never for a base MSAsobo plane. I did this as a test, and it worked. I have the Steam version too, so your files should be somewhere simular to this path:

\Steam\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\Packages\Official\Steam\asobo-aircraft-tbm930

First, before you do anything, back up the ENTIRE TBM DIRECTORY in case it doesn’t work, because making changes can result in success, some loss of sound, or having NO sound at all. I can’t stress that enough.

  1. Delete the sound and soundai subdirectories from the original
    asobo-aircraft-tbm930/SimObjects/Airplanes/Asobo_TBM930 directory
  2. Copy the sound and soundai subdirectories from the DA62 directory (should be the same structure as the TBM directory) over to the TBM directory.
  3. In the base asobo-aircraft-tbm930 directory, find the layout.json file and update it using the MSFSLayoutGenerator.exe file (you can do that by just dragging the file over the EXE on your desktop).

If you don’t have the MSFSLayoutGenerator.exe file, you should be able to find it somewhere to download. And keep in mind that while this process may “work” for you, it may not be an exact carryover of all sounds from the source plane to the target plane. It’s just simply not an exact science, and certainly isn’t meant to be.

Oh, and keep in mind that if/when MSAsobo makes changes to the TBM, their updates will overlay yours and you’ll have to repeat the process.

Dear Destructzero915,

I want to thank you for you extensive reply.

However, since yesterday I leared about e-kerosine. And I did not know that yet.

So I think that will be the future for aviation, to make it a 100% or 99% durable.

So I decided, I am flying ahead with the current TBM sounds, because then it just runs on e-kerosine.

Nonetheless thanks again for you extensive reply.

Greetings from the Netherlands,

Dear all,

Disregard this question and topic further, I found my solution in e-kerosine, for this sound problem!
