Is it possible to get/extract a list of all airports in the sim?

I’m playing around with the idea of creating an app that will generate random routes. But to do that, I need to know which airports are available in the sim.

I’ve found ourairports.com to be a great source for all airports in the world but that includes way more than are supported within the sim.

Is there a way using SimConnect or some other tool to extract the available airports from the sim? As long as I can get some information out I can always use ourairports.com to fill the missing pieces.

I’m completely new to SimConnect and developing against the sim so any pointers are much appreciated.

Answering my own question.

After tinkering about a bit I did find the RequestFacilitiesList() method in SimConnect. Seems to be doing what I want.

Keep us updated on your project. I had started developing a website to something similar, but I have too many other projects! It sounds like you’ve already got farther than I did.
