Simple answer: No.
It is not recommended to edit/change/delete any files from the core game installation as it can lead to unintended consequences, including broken installations.
It may be possible that 3rd parties will develop add-ons for the community folder that will achieve what you are looking for without the need to alter or delete any core files.
I’ve successfully removed some handcrafted airports and it’s been fine. It was a bit finicky though.
