Yes, I know we never see most plane s but since last update it seems to me less planes.
Agree, very few shows up, even in the hotspots like LOWI, Rome, Paris, LA, etc. I remember at the start, it was almost crazy. (And I do have everything turned on.
I fly in RL for work and tbh I think yester we had only seen 3 maybe 4 aircraft on our routing.
The pandemic has slowed everything right down
Lol, there are thousands of planes a day bring tracked, even now, but MSFS doesnât show them .
More messed up is many atleast show up on world map but after loading into airport they arenât there .
Often I pick an airport in world map because MDFS shows many planes in the area. Then I sit in airport for an hour and only 2 be show up. Thatâs my definition of broken.
Well, i guess it canât be helped. Must be on the server side at this point.
Around noon Frankfurt time about 30 Lufthansa land in x plane 11, with live traffic mod, here none.
I will admit that mod tracks cargo planes and MSFS doesnât seem to track Fed ex, etc. Wish that mod could come to MSFS. I once saw a Russian Mig land at Frankfurt in that mod.
But I should not complain, MSFS has cars that fly
Live traffic in MFS is a joke, and dont mix it up with IRL real traffic as I did based on my FSX experience. I was hoping Real traffic would come with MFS in an easy way but not so far.
Its a question of data providers and matchmodel issues- the same problem we have with online flying by Vatsim for instance (vPilot). Online pilots are definitely shown but the aircraft models are another joke. We must wait and see.
Is it that easy? There is a lot of air traffic out there in RW.
At some point there should be priorities on information downloaded. i.e. Fill the ârunway crackâ or get the traffic?
Dont follow what you mean here, I ment that âLive Trafficâ is not at all based on In Real Life Traffic or âReal Trafficâ as one provider name it. Perhaps you on a main airport see a busy table of Departures and Arrivals but you hardly see them appearing in the sim.
There are problems with live traffic and Multiplayers since a few updates.
Players are not displayed correctly, I think they tweaked it down for performance reasons.
I can see it when Iâm on the map, I see plenty of people at LFPG or Heathrow when Iâm on the map, when just after I start the flight at those airports only a few part are there⊠airports are almost emptyâŠ
Try flying around Shanghai if you want to see a lot of traffic. I was there yesterday, as part of my âLargest Airports in the Worldâ tour and it was chock full of planes! So many go-arounds it was getting stupid at one point. I then skipped to Madrid and it was Marie Celeste time. Guess that is how things are right now
Yeah, for some reason, only certain small parts of the world have considerable live traffic.
I did notice two days ago that Seattle was surprisingly busy. Still not as much traffic as there should have been, according to Flightradar 24 but it was nice enough.
And then I noticed also a higher percentage of traffic in south eastern China, after departure out of HKG in the direction of Gouanzhou.
That having said, Europe is really a disappointment for Live Traffic.
I wonder why.
Canât wait for the traffic mod being developed right now.
I beleive its a blend of buggy software, not proper provider and model matching- liveries etc. Asobo is aware and might do something to it.
Maybe it depends on the region? I flew from Anchorage and there was tons of traffic. Some on final had to go around. In Europe I see almost no traffic but I didnât bothered checking flighradar if itâs the same irl
maybe its not so much a MSFS issue, but a data availability issue, and the securing of the rights to use whatever data is available.
For example, here in the USA we are fortunate to be able to both Watch Live Traffic, as well as listen to Live traffic, because the USA has decided that this data may be freely distributed, and be made available on the Internet,
ie You can listen to Live ATC of Boston Approach on the Internet.
You cannot listen to London Airport control on the Internet ⊠UK does not allow such data to be broadcast on the internet. Same goes for any live radar coverage.
I assume Microsoft/Asobo are in ânegotiationsâ with those that COULD supply this data, for the Licensing and right to incorporate this data into MSFS.
That being said, itâs amazing to me, that MSFS can say, get any UK Traffic information.
911 & âRise of Aviation related Terrorismâ & âNational Securityâ cannot have helped !!!
That being said⊠In the USA you canâŠ
But if you say go to Boston (KBOS), you can both listen to Boston Approach, and watch Boston Radar, (which appear to be pretty well IN-SYNC), you can both SEE and HEAR the planes arriving & departing KBOS in âreal timeâ ??
But if you fire up MSFS at the same time, and compare the two, its a very different picture, and what is happening in MSFS bears NO RELATIONSHIP or Correlation to what is really happening at âInternetâ KBOS ?
Or at least, that has been my experience, w hen I tried this, even after Patch #kingair-350
This thread and further linked threads may be of interest.
One thing to try here would be to turn mutli-player off. Some users report more live traffic without MP because MP takes up some of the available slots.
As youâll see from the linked posts, when you take away ground traffic at airports, there are actually not that many planes taking off/landing at the same time in real life. I found the sim pretty much exactly correlated to real life, allowing for the lag time.
Huh?
But doesnât that mod just add liveries?
It would âHelpâ if Asobo âOfficaillyâ explained a lot more than they do⊠but i doubt if that is going to happen. (Nobody like doing, or the cost of, producing âDocumentationâ)
ie
MSFS general Documentation.
How things are âdesigned toâ and meant to work
ie
- Weather
- Live Traffic
- Aircraft flight Dynamics
etc
So, at the Moment, there are masses of Ideas and Theories on how feature are meant to work, or how individuals would like them to work, but no base references.
Just getting a full SDK of what is already designed, is like pulling teeth.
I can clearly see the advantages this has for a Games developer.
- No addition Public documentation costs ( and maybe inadequate internal documentation)
- No requirement to meet Public Specs, because non are released, so developer is free to do really whatever they feel like doing, or not doing.
Multiple reasons for this , one of the major being, COST.
Obviously Game Development is a very different beast to say a Commercial or Military development program - and so are the costs involved.
Coming from a large Aerospace company, with all the requirements associated with any development project, I am amazed that anything of any size can be developed without adequate specifications and procedure ⊠but apparently, many Gaming Development Competencies have managed to find a way to reduce these requirements to a bare minimum.
Just as well, or we could never afford theses WYSIWYG âComputer Gamesâ
I do have a couple videos recording the live traffic. To me, it looks like you really need to wait a bit for the live traffic to populate over time. I have players turned off for one session but not the other.
- KATL (without players)
- KLAX (with players)
what time were you at Atlanta? I never seen that many, not even close.
