Is my i7-8700 CPU good enough for 4k?

Hi all

Trying to determine if my CPU is “enough” for 4k and possibly VR in MSFS, assuming the right GPU to go with it.

Thank you for any thoughts on the CPU front and perhaps a GPU recommendation also.
(NV or AMD are both fine)

At 2560 x 1440, yes to both.

You are likely to be GPU bound @4k.i7 8700 is a good cpu and there will always be a bottleneck depending on other hardware and the game itself. Overall its not a strong CPU for the most powerful current GPUS.If you plan on pairing with a 3080 it will bottleneck.Its already two gens ago and locked.
Least you can do is test for yourself but personally won’t pair with it any high end GPU.
