Is my Ram correct? I need help?

Hi simmers,
I was looking at my pc specs using cpuid and looking at the ram memory i noticed it states bandwidth DDR-2666 (1333Mhz), but yet my ram states DDR4 3200MHz? which is why i bought them for the 3200Mhz. Am i missing something here? is one or the other not correct? Or am i just stupid and everything is reading correct? Any advice would be great. See attached images for reference.
Thanks

I also have two 3200MHz sticks. The maximum speed I can reach is 3000MHz. Afaik it depends on your CPU in order to reach the full Hertz of your RAM. Also, check at your BIOS which speed is selected for your RAM. There should be an option, which allows the computer to automatically decide which Hertz to use depending on the actual load of the system. But you can also select a fixed Hertz value there.

I get BSODs here and there, when setting my RAM to the full 3200MHz. Because of this, I am using the auto function.

Thanks for the reply.

So I’ve gone into my Bios and this is what it states. On the AI Tweeker section it gives me the option to switch from DDR4 3200 to Auto. Should I select Auto do you think?

Thanks again!

I am currently driving to work. I got the same BIOS, so I gonna x-check this after work. But I think the auto option is the right one.

You should also research, which frequency your CPU is able to handle.

As I said before, it’s possible that you will not be able to run at the full 3200MHz.

Motherboard PRIME X570-P?

If yes - motherboard BIOS is outdated.

Download and update (flash) BIOS
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Motherboards/PRIME/PRIME-X570-P/HelpDesk_BIOS/

Have you enable the XMP profile in Bios?

DOCP not XMP

Up to 3200MHz

edit

Everything ok mate

1599,6=1600MHz x2 = 3200MHz

At the same time press CTRL ALT DEL
click task manager → performance tab → memory

Done a quick flight test with the spec results seen in the corner. Is there anything on there you think i could tweak alittle more? or leave as?

thanks again

Glad you got the help you needed. I too have an ASUS board. The default in the bios is 2666. You should be good to go now. Happy flying!

Take care, 3200MHz is bringing a Ryzen 7 3700X to the limit.

I ran a g.Skill Trident Z RGB kit with 3200MHz for two days on a Ryzen 7 Zen 3 3800X - and the mainboard refused to boot after the second day and hung with CPU debug light.

Take good care and have a close look on the temperatures, a Ryzen even when equipped with a Wraith Prism and Cryonaut or Arctix MX thermal paste runs significant hotter when changing 2666Mhz to 3000 or 3200 MHz and it will gain almost no noticable performance plus

I recommend using 2933 MHz, undervolt a little bit and tighten the RAS-CAS timings instead of overclocking the RAM clock speed.
Everything above 2933 led to significant problems on my Ryzen 5 2400G and my Ryzen 7 3800X. But this can be a mainboard issue with the VRMs on my rig, I have only one mainboard and one 550w PSU here to test the RAM and CPU clock speeds (I would love to have two or three mainboards and a few more Ryzens to play with… but these things have gone really expensive  )

You’re very welcome.

Yep - uninstall geforce experience and change settings via program settings tab

Apply

I’ve read this before about geforce. Is there a reason why?

Thanks

it is recommended sometime, but not usefully to un-install geforce exp. if you need the features which bring this tool ( e.g. shadowplay ).

The only thing you have to do is to disabled “Auto Optimzation” of games…

Gefoce experience can change msfs settings without user notice - you have to be sure that you disable the auto optimize settings.
Also in some cases gfe has caused major lag issues, loss of performance and variable performance up down issues.

as mentioned… only if users let game auto-optimization enabled.

GeForce Exp is offers very powerfull features and isnt a bad tool, we have some topics about

Some users reported a issues because users former enabled highlight-background-recording and forget then to disabled it ( thus the gpu constantly recorded a video ). No other issues are known…

But yes… if users not want record video or use e.g. the filters or foto features, there is no need for having the tool installed - like for all other tools which users not need

I just close the app from the taskbar when I don’t want it on. No need to completely delete it.

note: you not close the ‘features’ of Gef.Experiance with closing the nvidia control panel
but yes, not need to delete gef.Experiance in generally

Good to know. I didn’t know that.

For those of you without it, how do you get notified of driver updates? That’s really the only reason I ever use it now.

if you not want to use features , only get the beneffit of the updater , then you can disable all within gef.experince application and within the overlay itself… In gef.exp. app you can disable the overlay completly.
