Well, I went ahead and bought the PMDG 739. Pricey, but I’m happy. Looks great, flies great, has easy access to liveries, excellent Simbrief to MCDU integration. Thanks for all the responses.
It’s still a TON of work for Marketplace folks. Don’t forget they are funneling ALL products. It will help, but, there is absolutely no guarantee induction will be noticeably faster than maybe cutting the time in half, which, when you look at two months as typical induction, that’s not much better.
I’ll give you another liner that’s not been said. Just Flight’s Bae-146 is outstanding. Been a bit since I’ve flown it so not sure how it acts with SU12 but I love flying that retro beauty.
I spent most of the last two years flying bizjets, and decided to give airliners a try. I tried the 787 (included with Premium Deluxe), and it is pretty good, but half the controls are INOP. So I got the PMDG 737-800, and that’s all I’ve flown the last couple of weeks. Maybe someday I’ll try the Fenix or FBW Airbuses if I get bored by this, but it’ll be a while.
You chose well, IMO.
As an Airbus Guy myself, the Fenix is amazing, so is the FBW for Point to Point flying both the Fenix and FBW are very close. I even bought the Toliss A320 Neo for X-Plane which I recently Deleted, but I cant resist a Study Level bus and it is one hell of an add-on.
Just to add both the Fenix and the FBW (less so the FBW) fail in one big Area and that is engine Options. They are both missing engine types the IAE engines on the Fenix and the PW engines on the FBW ( I dont blame FBW for that) but it really is annoying for purists like me that want to fly the real routes with the real plane configurations.
But far and wide for FPS, systems, immersion, useability, updates, the PMDG 737 Series from PMDG is king imho
EDIT incase my Post is misleading ****
I am an Airbus guy as in fan, not an Airbus Pilot.
If you like the A320, is is very obvious which one is the way better aircraft
the Fenix A320.
Gonna try the latest FBW experimental build this weekend, as I haven’t touched the FBW A320 for over a year. This is great to hear thanks!![]()
Its funny… just got a new pc and a32nx is the ultimate test as was quite heavy on my performance with my last computer…
I just forget just how easy and fast it is to set up and fly hence why I call it plug and play… .
Did have issues with double up of waypoints various times but after flying non-stop pmdg, JF146, and a smidgen of CRj and 787heavy…
Its really like a nice pleasant surprise to come back to and go wow… this is for free…
No one is mentioning the Inibuilds A320 v2, is definitely a great aircraft! I have been flying lately more than the FBW, has RNAV and weather radar, don’t know how come FBW does not have it yet.
FBW A320 is most freeware used airplane in the sim for me - There are always constant updates and thing gets better every day. They have recently released new FMS software (Development version) which now supports missed approach procedures and some other bits. It is not fenix level in terms of system wise but since considering this is a freeware - it is still complex enough to keep one busy. More features are planned as far as I am aware and will be available via future updates.
I personally don’t prefer inibuilds A320 v2 - the handling is bit odd and sounds are not quite realistic. I have done maybe 1 or 2 flights in it and that was it. It is great step up for those who have not tried FBW or Fenix yet.
Moved to Discussion Hub Aircraft more appropriate for this kind of discussion and since not a support request.
