I stumbled upon an issue I created for myself that caused the sim issues, and it wasn’t the sims fault. It was the keyboard actuator’s fault…
I had assigned the same keystroke combo of Enable/Display VFR Map and AP Approach Enable/Disable. I am not sure if the second parameter is the exact name, but you should get the gist.
When I pressed that keyboard shortcut via a Streamdeck XL that I created (Shift+V, whatever it is) it fired both events. Which did screw up one of my flights.
My questions: Is there a way we can see if two events have been assigned to the same keyboard shortcut? A “Conflicts View” option? For “all” keyboard assignments.
It happened to me and it could be happening to other users too with very unpredictable results that could leave people scratching their heads. Including Asobo Studios.
And it is not the Streamdeck’s fault. I could have pressed the same keyboard shortcut and gotten the same result. I forgot to clear the AP Approach keystroke.
And yes, I know I should have just used “V” like it was in the past, but I had already reused it since we had the VFR Map CTD’s issues. That is why I tried to select a different shortcut.

If you had looked in the keybinding options in game you may have had noticed, that on the left side you can search by the key that is pressed…
Click there hit the assigned key you are searching for and all keybindings will show up where that keystroke is used.
Thanks for the reply, Puuhbearchen!
If there was an option that works against the keyboard only, this new Conflicts button could show us when any/all events have had the same shortcut used. Done deal. That is what I am looking for.
The current shortcuts window allows us to put two events against the same keystroke. In some ways it is acting like a keyboard scripting tool. I saw it in action and noticed the changes to the AP when I turned the VFR Map on and off.
Not sure if I understand you correctly. But as soon as you put in a new keybinding in the options the window tells you, that there is already a function bound to that key.
So if you want to bind the key “v” to the function “autopilot on” the game tells you in red “there is already the function “VFR map” bound to that key” and asks you if you still want that key to bind to “autopilot on”

What I did, because I was being stupid and in a hurry, is I did not “Clear” the AP keystroke and then assign it to the VFR Map. Both events triggered. My bad, but could happen to others, too.
It would just be great to check the status of any keyboard shortcuts that are in conflict.
Ah I see what you mean. But that is hard to achieve what you discribe as a “conflict” is a feature to me. I have a few keys that deliberately do multiple functions.
But I get what you want. You want an obvious easy to spot marker in the overview telling you that function x shares an input key with something else.

Exactly! Sorry about my inability to describe it properly.
It is cool that we can use multiple keystrokes to preform (simple) macro’s, but even then we could decide if they are a conflict or something we also want to trigger.
Thanks, Puuh!
