I often times switch between speakers and headset. If I start in one, let’s say headset I can’t switch to speakers in the sim. It just doesn’t seem to take. Ideally it would be good to get prompted to select an audio device before I launch the sim. Or maybe there is launcher software which can do this?
Here I can change the audio device in the “Options” of sim without restart it . When I forget to choose the right device before start it, in the sim running I just go to “Options” and there I make the change and then I start a fly.

I have a Logitech G560, and a Jabra PHS0002W desktop conferencing speaker. Sometimes I forget to turn one or the other off, and all I’ve had to do to get it to work is turn one on, and the other off. I very often have no audio device turned on, and sit there wondering why I can’t hear the music as the sim starts up. I realise, and press the button on my powered USB hub, which has buttons for every port, and the audio kicks in.

@hobanagerik problem is I have a bunch of audio device due to my monitor seeminly supporting HDMI audio.
You can turn that off if you like. Find it in device manager, and disable it.
