Hi there, Is there an equivalent to Navigraph? Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA
Aerosoft’s NavDataPro
any particular reason why you’re looking for alternatives?
In terms of what ?
Charts?
NAV Data updates?
Flight planning?
There are other tools, but Navigraph is the most up to date abs complete package.
Little NAV Map is good (but doesn’t have NAV data / AIRAC updates) and needs to be updated.
Sky vector has charts as well as a multitude of other online resources.
There’s Foreflight which is a real world pilot app (paid) that can be used in the sim.
Hi there, Thanks for the replies…At the moment I really don’t want to spend around $120.00 a year..I was just wondering if there is one that is cheaper that does the same job basically..
Chartfox is free
If you have a Navigraph subscription, Navigraph sends the latest Nav data to LittleNav Map every cycle. That is what I use. If you use Plan-G you can build the internal data base with the MSFS database, which is also current with your Navigraph subscription. I doubt very much you can get the type of information Navigraph provides for free.
Navigraph is literally the best..
Correct, given the OP asked for an alternative, one would believe they either don’t have that required subscription, or are looking to get rid of it. In turn, they could not update it using the Navigraph AIRAC. ![]()
Hi there, Basically I just wanted to use it for the AIRAC Cycle. And use Simbrief As my planner..
I would give Little NAV Map a try, set it to not use Navigraph and then update the scenery library’s from the sim into LNM.
That is also a good strategy.
For about 40 bucks a year, (I spend more on coffee per annum than that), you can buy a NavData only subscription that will insert Navigraph data into the sim. I use Little Nav Map in lieu of charts.
Good advice above ^^^
You could also do one month of premium, then cancel and use the AIRAC you paid for until it gets too far out of date that you need to update again.
Chartfox is free and that’s great, but the various local government charts that they use are terrible.
There is a reason that Jeppesen is the best at what they do! And only Navigraph or a much more expensive actual IRL subscription can give us what Jepp provides.
I guess one way to do it, is to subscribe it for 1 month. And get the benefit of the navigraph navdata update. After that, just unsubscribe, and you can still use the navdata until the next year where you can resubscribe and update the navdata.
The downside is, you won’t get up-to-date navdata all the time. But those updates generally applies minor fixes and some nav update on a small number of airports/routes. It won’t affect global navdata as a whole anyway. So chances are you won’t notice any difference or out-of-date navdata most of the time.
This way, you don’t have to spend $120 a year. You only spend a month’s worth of subcription, and you just do it once a year.
You could always opt for the data version of Navigraph (32$ a year) and get your charts from open sites where you download them manually. It´s a chore but it’s way cheaper. This goes for Europe at least (all charts available on eud (european air control…) and then there are lots of national AIP sources free of charge. How available charts for US and the rest of the world are is another issue.
Hi, Just getting into airliners as I’ve bought the BEA 146, normally fly GA so steep learning curve for me at the moment and I’m not sure I’ll stick it out. Are you saying Navigraph will remain functional even after a subscription is stopped for a year?
Hello,
you have simple solution use NAVBLUE def. sim nav data, is enough for best experience, charts are available on countries real life main pages, this is best free solution. You have relativelly updated nav data with sim update and charts in web can be actual used. I can offer one trick, also if you don’t fly on Vatsim you can check country Vatsim pages and look to charts and especially also NOTAMs. Problem can be if you use generic atc what makes this somehow impossible, in case of NOTAM reports closed runway
what generic atc doesn’t know.
Navigraph really provides two benefits:
1 - Updated navdata (aka AIRAC cycles)
2 - Access to charts
It is possible to subscribe only to 1, or get both with an ultimate subscription. If you only subscribe for a month (either 1 or 2), you will retain access to whatever AIRAC cycle they released that month (at least that’s my understanding), but chart access needs an active subscription.
Personally I find the main benefits in having charts, so Ultimate it is. Keep in mind if you fly online on Vatsim for example you kind of need the latest AIRAC and charts. It sounds expensive but for me it’s totally worth it for the added realism even though I’m flying solo.
