Is there anyway to install MSFS without the Xbox bloat?

As per title. I do not want the stuff Xbox software insists on being resident on your system.

I don’t need additional support for controllers that work fine already, or apps to take pictures in games. I especially do not like that once you install MSFS, this Xbox bloat loads at every Windows start up there after.

I know you used to be able to do this, but it caused issues with the update process. I know that I can make a back up copy and reduce a reinstall massively, so having to uninstall to reinstall on update week would not bother me at all.

I am guessing the answer is that there is no way to do this, but nothing ventured nothing gained.

Msfs installation is so huge that you really aren’t adding much with the Xbox applucation.

What bloat are you actually talking about? Are you talking about on the PC? Or the console?

Edit: Nevermind. You’re talking about the PC. You can set Xbox to not start at startup. And you can run flight simulator without even touching Xbox. Not sure what other bloat you’re talking about.

No… MSFS is a MS Store app and not a runtime application like we are accustomed to after decades of the Windows Os. It’s compiled as a package not an executable. XBox code will run in the backgound regardless of if you have launched it from the Windows button. As noted, it is not a drain on your system resources. It’s a price PC users must make so MS can put this on a game console.

@graspee It is not the size of the installation; it is the resident software it leaves behind.

They load as soon as you install the MSFS2020. They load persistently regardless of MSFS being executed. No they do not take up any space either in HDD or memory, but I do not want them running unless they are functionally needed to run a programme.

@Downscc
Xbox code does not run on my system until I install MSFS. I cannot see a way to avoid activating this. I can disable it with Autoruns after the installation, and then only enable it when I play MSFS. Which TBF is not often these days.
Cheers anyways.
