Another in my “Islands of the Atlantic” series.
Today we are exploring Sao Tome and Principe, two islands off the west equatorial coast of Africa.
Note that neither the DEM or imagery is particularly good for these islands. At times it looks a bit like one is flying in FSX.
Sao Tome
We start at the international airport on Sao Tome in the Zlin Savage Cub:
Heading west from the airport, we fly over the coastal town of Neves:
and then traverse the island…
…to the town of Sao Joao dos Angolares:
Following the coast south…
we reach the small beach community at Malanza at the southern tip of the island:
There are not a lot of spots where you can land on this island, but this beach is one of them:
It is a pleasant walk along the road to the nearby village of Porto Alegre:
Returning to our aircaft, we take off and head back north along the coast. This is the town of Agua Ize:
On arrival back at the airport at Sao Tome, we’ll change aircaft for the trip to the island of Principe, subject of my next post.
