ISP changed now MSFS app doesn’t run

I changed my internet provider (cable to fibre optics) and all of a sudden the MSFS app that I used to run start the game gives me an app won’t run error. My account is the same as the Xbox app account and I have tried all of the tips seen online. Has anyone had this exact problem and how did you fix. Hoping to avoid a full reinstall. Thx

What app do you use to start the sim?

I was using the MSFS from the alphabetical windows start menu but it doesn’t work via the Xbox app either

Does the sim start up at all, or immediately gives you the error.
If immediate, is the sim still there ( hasn’t been unintentionally removed)?

Right away and sim is definitely still there.

Hmm, sounds like it could be a NAT issue. Does the router allow you to change this? Usually NAT type 2 is best. Anything higher has usually blocked access for me in the past.

Hopefully some bigger gaming chair folks will jump in soon.

Couple of questions:

  • Could you provide a screenshot of the error message?
  • Can you open the MS store & XBox Apps OK - i.e. when started, both apps show you logged into your Xbox app account?

Good news. I fixed it. Not sure which one of these was the ticket but I logged off microsoft store and xbox app and uninstalled the xbox app and game manager app then flushed my DNS cache. Rebooted computer then reinstalled only the xbox app via the url not the microsoft store, logged in and started MSFS from the xbox app and it worked. Happy days
