Hello. I have issue with ground textures which are very blurry but only when close to them. I will post a photo of it and also the settings in MSFS. In Nvidia Control Panel I have AF set to 16x
GPU - RTX 3060
CPU- i5 9gen
via NCP
anisotropic filtering set “application-controlled”
save settings.
Launch msfs
Turn on anisotropic filtering and set to max - apply and save.
Hi, I’ve a similar problem since almost a year ago.Along with the blurry white centerline I also have a wavy runway :Not all the airport runways are this bad but the LIPZ is the worse by far.I tried your solution but it didn,t work in my case. Any further idea??
Thanks

Uninstall nvidia geforce experience.
Restart PC.
Restore NCP global settings
Click yes and apply.
Restore MSFS settings via program settings tab.
Click Restore > yes > apply.
For testing purpose rename community folder to community_copy
Create community folder
Launch msfs.
Don’t think those screenshots in the first post are an anisotropic filtering issue. Lack of AF has a very specific look where textures blur horizontally and get worse towards the horizon.
For some reason it’s displaying the wrong texture, but I doubt it’s caused by graphics settings.
Wavy runways are actually pretty normal. The vertical is just exaggerated in that view due to the depth of field compression. You’re talking rises and falls of a foot or two over the course of a mile or two, even on a “flat” runway.
But I see another issue there, in that the 500’ touchdown zone markers are only one stripe per side instead of three. Oh wait, that’s everywhere for everyone.
Thanks, I’ve uninstalled nvidia geforce exsperience and applied all the others suggested steps: no luck. No changes ,still the same bad view.
The funny thing is that it used to be fine in the past. I just remember that at this airport I had the problem, like many other simmers all around the globe, of the tall trees at the treshold of the rw causing interferences when landing or departing. The tall trees have been completely removed after an update or patch ( I don’recall),which is fine of course, but after that I got the wavy RW.Not sure it has happened on the same event . I contacted a friend of mine to double check on his sim and he has no problems. It might be related to my hardware and software settings but I’ve been unable to fix it so far.
Is there new scenery - 3rd party or an update? Again, you may not easily notice the undulations on a runway unless you’re zoomed in and the depth of field is compressed, which yours seems to be. Did your friend also have the same zoom level?
No, I don’t have 3rd party scenery. My only content in the Community folder is the FBW A320. I understand what you mean about zooming in but consider that my pic is taken from inside the cockpit so very little zooming. I have also noticed that when zooming in at max level the view get worse as you said. I’ll ask the friend of mine to double check its zooming level but I believe that it cannot be lower then mine. I’ll be back when I get the feed-back.Thanks
What is happening with the ground texture even at very low distance?
I have tried using no addons, only default aircraft, default airports etc. Yet the issue still remains.
This is using TLOD 100:
Increasing to 200, 300, 400 does not help (increases distance maybe 10 more feet).
All settings on high/ultra, using DX12.
(Tried stuff like letting nvcpl set the Anisotropic filtering to 16x instead of ingame etc.)
(Also done all the clearing of caches and index files imaginable).
July 1 I had brilliant life like scenery at high and ultra settings with OLOD 200 and TLOD 200. Today July 2 the scenery is all blurry no matter what my settings are. Using a network monitor I see that the sim reads only 65 kb (yes kilo) initializing and less than 50 kb during a 30-minute flight. I have a 1-GB connection but the sim is unable or unwilling to use it.
I went thru about 10 sim restarts where it locked up in the black screen after the splash screen. I deleted my usercfg file and the sim rebuilt it for me but still I have blurry scenery and cartoon like buildings and trees. I have turned all of traffic and data off and on but it does not resolve the issue.
No matter what I do - the sim will not get any data from the network.
DX12 and DX11 - same problem. Empty community file same problem, many addons same problem.
This is driving me crazy. I have to increase TLOD to 300+ to have decent quality textures right next to my aircraft. Something is horribly wrong with the TLOD and texture quality. Is no-one else seeing this?
If someone wants to try load in the sim with a big airliner and just switch to external camera and see if the ground textures are loading in fully or switching to lower quality like in my video example.
same for me since SU15 released. TLOD in 280 and terrain textures are garbage
Well, I can confirm that something strange is happening with the terrain, and I think it’s Asobo’s problem and not my part. Today I was flying over Nuremberg and the sim loaded snow textures… in July!!! I think Asobo’s severs are overloaded again.
This is becoming ever more intolerable. If there are server problems, which there has been ever since this sim launched, you’d have thought they’d have ironed out probable issues early on. The sim is constantly being ruined by the heavy reliance of the servers but also we’re having to contend with this half baked ‘memory management system’ which is also contributing to horrible visuals.
Hello everyone!
For some time now, I’ve had the problem that the ground textures (especially taxiway and runway) look very blurry a few meters away from the aircraft.
I have already read that you should turn off Anistropic Filtering in MSFS and set it to 16x in the Nvidia Inspector. I’ve already done that, but it doesn’t help.
I have the latest update of MSFS as well as my graphics driver.
Does anyone else have any ideas?
Enclosed you can see a few sample images and my settings:

Thanks a lot!
Rob
