Seems MP is broke. Tried group only last night and it was hit or miss if we could see each other. Only 2 people in the group and constantly having issues, both at the same runway, would take off at the same time and then all of a sudden we would appear, but then give it a little bit and would disappear again. There is something seriously wrong with the Multiplayer.

Iād check your methods and settings mate rage, cause after much trial and error, we find it works a treat! And had a bunch of guys out last night on MP from our private group, finding NO issues.
Also feel free to join our group if wishing successful group flight with TALK option too!

Iāve been having the exact same issue. It took me and a buddy 2 hours in a group to try fly with each other, then he finally appeared only for us to both lose each other just after taking off.
Private worked once and live traffic mode worked once, but in both instances we popped in and out or disappeared from each others view.
A sprinkling of multiplayer is not a fun experience

patch 2 did not work for us buddy and me. both were online. on the same airport and time. did not even see him. group icon still greyed out!

Just completed a community flight in the London area. About 20 people joined, flying C152, C172, X Cub and the like.
No issues at all, and a lot of fun.

agreed! its important to learn how the sim is really designed, in all three MP modes gang, ive run 7 events and learned alot, glad to share if it helps anyone!

Spoils most of the fun,20 on takeoff lineup, go, go, go,go, go, u get the idea, its AMAZING TO SEE!
-the best modes for group events are LIVE, and ALL PLAYERS and for different reasons!
In fact, ALL PLAYERS is considered by most happy groupers, the best modeā¦why?
Its the mode, where EACH pilot can have THEIR OWN settings! and not be affected in flight with a group for the most parts, that means YOU can fly with a gang using the weather of your choice, no air traffic, and much more.
So, decide on what MODE fits you best firstā¦
Then note how EACH works, like:
*ensuring if using LIVE PLAYERS as sim says 'then all MUST be set to SAME air traffic settings found below" MUST MATCH
*tip for better results:
dont start in a busy airportā¦use a smaller nearby, (donāt forget the sims '50 planes shown ā rule (thatās all planes guys!) and never on a runway. Its actually more realistic to see your whole group meetā¦ forming from parked nearby and lining upā¦is a sight to see. Leader can then āspawnā at runway ONLY , leaving a pack READY TO GO, perfectly behind and set ready! A SITE!
āwell I dont see himā¦ā u must use NAMETAGSā¦otherwise in flight, at any distance is the planes flasher light, a few pixels on your screen, and you have no way of knowing its a fellow pilot!
thats the purpose of group flight despite some saying it takes awayā¦not in group it dont, it adds!
-the sims settings must be remember in each user may differ! ie: for distances of view can vary greatly from one rig to another. so note this and fly close if you can helps, esp. in larger groups
hardware tips: ensure to update to the latest drivers for the sim i:e nvidiaā¦ensure latest 2004 win10 on all pilots involved, USE ONE SERVER FOR ALL INVOLVED and again ENSURE SETTINGS MATCH FOR EACH USER FOR BEST RESULTS

I am sorry mate, to not understand your post. Other than some server overloads that they are improving upon(1.8.3) I dont think there ARE any real issues with MP, or maybe some of you just dont have the internet speeds it asks for, as I do know it works a treat. I know because I have been up with MANY, since it came out. Like I said, take the time to learn how ALL THREE modes work and hereās hoping you have better results!

did you check your online settings for yourself & your friend? Did you also check to make sure you & your friend had name tags turned on as well as making sure you were both on the same server? ie West/East etc
of course mate, both online cuz we are talking on the phone as we are setting up, live in the same area. the group icon just does not light up for us!
Try playing together not in a group & see if you can see one another.
I also have massive problems with the multiplayer that doesnāt work for me
I can set what I want, but I donāt see any other players in the game, the generic aircraft are displayed for me, but no live players
Canāt add any other players to my friend list either, I always get the message āFailedā
Iām desperate here, I finally want to use multiplayer and fly with other people

Hi, we did a few multiplayer flights with friend but we got 2 issues: 1) even if they are still near me, they sometime disappear and reappear after a while (same things for my friends flying with me) and 2) the group leader was kickout of his group so we had to end the flight and recreate the group to get him back. Anyone with the same issues? Thanks

I am not too fond of it myself, as I hate all these beeps when someone posts in any of the rooms, and you have no clue where that post was placed.
But I guess I have to get used to it, lol
TLDR: What is the correct (reliable) way of joining or starting a flight with your friends?
Sorry for revising an older topic but over the weekend I have just started using multiplayer now that a friend has just purchased MSFS.
We normally arrange Sunday night flying (previously on IL2) and have been flying together on various sims for decades (not to mention real life as air cadet trainee glider pilots over 30 years ago).
Weāve had real issues getting this to work reliably so I was wondering if there is a process for creating a group and connecting to friends that others here have found the most reliable?
Last night for instance, I logged on to see him flying over Cyprus on the world map. Clicking his icon, I could set that āin flightā departure point. I got him to add me to a group so we would be using the same flight conditions. Talking on Discord, we were both circling the same location and altitude but no sign of each otherās aircraft (traffic labels turned on).
I left the flight and made sure I was connecting to the same server as him but to no avail.
This continued for several iterations of each of us ending and restarting flights before suddenly there we were in the same instance.
Finally, we got a nice sight-seeing, formation flying flight along the coast of southern Cyprus - somewhere Iād never been but he had been based at in the RAF.
