Issues with multiplayer

This has probably already been said but I didn’t read through all 140 previous responses…

If you are not seeing your friend online, go into your windows Time & Date settings and manually trigger a time sync. This worked for me. Our clocks were originally about 3min off from each other. After the sync, we could see each other online and join a group together.

Thanks, I’ll give that a try if problems persist.

Following some more reading here, we abandoned groups entirely in preference for just using “All Players” and both selected the same specific server instead of leaving one or both on automatic. It worked without issues last night so fingers crossed…

I wonder if auto server selection was the issue (though I’d have expected groups to override that). We’re both in the UK and if left on Automatic, the sim seemed undecided between Western Europe and Northern Europe at times.

I have a question. why cant i see my friends plane he downloaded. All i see is him flying a generic plane instaed of the one he brought. such as the MB-399. if he loads the MB-399 into the game it looks to me like a cessna citation jet.

This appears to be by design to prevent potentially large data loads whenever you encounter another player with a non standard aircraft or livery.

We encountered it even using custom liveries of default aircraft. I had a red paint job on the default Savage Cub and my friend saw my aircraft as a Robin Cadet… sitting on a non existent tailwheel! We now make sure to share any custom liveries we are giving to use beforehand.

Maybe not so easy in your case with a paid add on however.

Thank you, thank you.
Tried many things, many times over, - all to no avail.
This worked, - so simple, yet so effective.
Cheers.

I am at a loss: I joined a multiplayer event recently (Leg 15 of Pilots of the Caribbean). Audio via Discord, heard all the other players just fine. About 40 people joined and were gathering up on rwy 28. That is what I heard at least, I did not see them. I used the settings they advised (all players / no traffic / live weather) and WAS seeing other players, but NOT the 40 that I wanted to see. I heard them depart, so I took off as well and by listening I kinda could see I was in the same area and hoped that it was a buffering issue and they all would pop up, but no… I then quit the flight and started a new one at the next Island they would land on. I was waiting on the runway and via discord could look at the stream of the leader (Footandmouth I think was his handle). To my suprise, I saw myself in that stream, sitting on the runway, but of course, the other players were NOT visible to me. What am I doing wrong? Is this a date/time issue? Could it be my quite slow connection (to be upgraded soon to fiber though!)? Help…

I had issue last night that I couldn’t even see my friend in my friend list but he could see me. You was playing via game pass and me via steam but he could see me but I couldn’t see him. This was my first time trying to play with multiplayer.
